Considering he left for "personal reasons", I'd say it definitly is NOT any of your business. His teammates and coaches do not hold it against him, so why do you?

Correct. His reason is his business. His quitting the Wyoming Cowboys is our business. I could give two shits what his reason was, all I know is he walked away from an organization that I care deeply about, an organization that I help fund through taxes, and an organization that I further support by cowboy joe donations and game day revenue. I have the right to say I think it's odd that he chose the middle of his senior season to quit his team.

And opinions are fine. But the "F Sellers for leaving when he did!" Comments are not opinions. There is a difference. Comments like that are not opinions, that is just fans feeling Butthurt, because, "How dare you make a decision in your own life that will affect what I cheer for!" And in the grand scheme of things doesn't really fucking matter! Does it? I would always support a persons decision in life based on what they feel is best for them, even if it took them away from something I care about and cheer for. What fans seem to forget, and this seems obvious here, is fans only consider players as players, not people, with their own lives and own decisions to make. And if these commend are appropriate where are the "F Haldorson and Vernon for leaving and screwing our depth!" comments? They are not necessary. They are ridicule, not opinion. People need to leave Sellers alone! His decision is made, and he's doing what he thinks is best for he and his wife.

If Shy and his team aren't worried about it, why should you be. Besides he is no better, if not worse than Cooke overall. Seriously, had we had Sellers in the AFA game, what would his numbers have looked like? Probably something like 5 points; 4 rebounds; 0 steals, asst, blk, 3 TOs. Just guesstimating, but those are your typical Sellers numbers. Would that have made a lick a difference on Saturday? Not even close. Do you really think numbers like that will help us against the bigs of SDSU? We need to get Barnes in there. Let him bang around. If we are such a defensive minded team, put the guy in. He's apparently good at D and questionable on O. We are gonna need more D in this one.

He's a quitter, that's the info weve been given. He wants to talk shit about the fans being keyboard warriors and saying nothing to his face, he needs to practice what he preaches. He hasn't said a word to the public. Would he have been a savior in the AF game? Hell no. Would he been an additional large body that we could have used to potentially developed at least some sort of inside presence, hell yes. We could have used him.

And you are surprised by that? You don't think that Shy has set ground rules and created that atmosphere? Shyatt and his team aren't going to say sh!t even with a mouth full of it. That is why Shyatt is a class act.

While I have been reading this site for a number of years, I have been way slow to comment until recently. In my few comments I have been critical if not hostile to a few posters. (sorry about that, kind of) Can't say that I feel that way on this thread - I can see reasons for both being way butt hurt about the situation, and for simply letting it go.

A couple of thoughts: Sellars' greatest value to this team may not have been during the games. Perhaps it was his job to introduce Herndon, Barnes and Williams to the physicality of the college game. I suppose it is possible that even his role there was diminishing. At any rate he'll be missed.

I suspect that his decision to leave was legit, otherwise I think some bit of bad words would have leaked from sources closer to the team. What I have read, other than from disgruntled fans, seems to be supportive of Matt. Until I see some info that he did not have legit reasons for quitting, I am inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt. Seems like maybe we should take a cue from Papa Shy, rather than spending all this negative energy. Not to go all new age (not a bad thing, come to think of it), but this team could use some positive vibes and good karma.

although there was quite improvement from the last years to this year and I/we did see better things outta him, but in order to get the kinda playing time that he was seeking, let's see dramatic improvement overall and be a dependable team player, oooops that's gone

As a fan (which means nothing) I was honestly satisfied with his role this year. The last couple years, I wished we had that scholarship available for someone else, but I finally felt that Sellers was going to be able to provide serviceable minutes when we needed him. He wasn't going to be a star, but he wasn't going to be a complete liability anymore either. Then he quits. Damn.
