Have to echo all and say the Naughton is a stud. He'll be very, very very good. Josh was NOT going to lose that game. What a champion. I'm going to miss him.
That win had as much to do with Naughton as it did Adams. Glad Josh won his last game at home but without Naughton nothing he did mattered. Welcome to the future. Mr. Naughton is going to be a big part of itLanderPoke said:Have to echo all and say the Naughton is a stud. He'll be very, very very good. Josh was NOT going to lose that game. What a champion. Who is our 3rd best player? I'll ask you and everyone else, cause hell if I really know myself. Lieberman has been more of an in game influence then Herndon, Gorski....wait those are our current starters??? Ok yeah so maybe Naughton is our 3rd best player right now. I like what James is gonna be for our future but he has struggled from mid conference to now. Wait...who's our 3rd best player again???? I'm so confused :help:LanderPoke said:No. defense is 1/2 the game. He's semi-adequate on offense right now, I'll give him that.Cosmic Cowboy said:Has Lieberman become our 3rd best player just like that over the course of the last 6 games???
I'm considering all parts of the game, offense defense, rebounding, passing, etc..Cosmic Cowboy said:Who is our 3rd best player? I'll ask you and everyone else, cause hell if I really know myself. Hmmmmm as of right now yeah those first 3 look correct. Herndon should be there but man that guy can just turn into an absolute ghost some games. Ditto Gorski. I like Liebs in our top 4 right now. He just keeps churning and after the Trey stuff he seems to have come alive. It's like he read this board and got pissed. Liebs is that Grabau sort of steady hand guy, I think he could be better then Riley when its all said and done. Not at FT's though...nobody better then the Silent Splash.LanderPoke said:I'm considering all parts of the game, offense defense, rebounding, passing, etc..Cosmic Cowboy said:Who is our 3rd best player? Josh, Jmac, Naughton and Herndon. Gorski brings slightly more to the table as well because he's taller.
If one of the new guys start doing too well Shyatt sits them. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if Naughton gets like 4 min in the tourney game next week. Shyatt won't allow first year players to excell too much. Might get to their heads :roll:Cosmic Cowboy said:Also side note...Has any one seen Hayden Dalton???? He's gone missing. Is he hurt? What's going on with him? He was really starting to come on and was arguably our best big man for a hot minute. The team this year is just so young and weird. Ups and downs and just pure ghosting out disappearing at times. It's almost as frustrating as football.....wait no not even close statement retracted
He has played sparingly since he hurt his ankle. I don't think he is 100%.Cosmic Cowboy said:Also side note...Has any one seen Hayden Dalton???? He's gone missing. Is he hurt? And Marshall...JimmyDimes said:He has played sparingly since he hurt his ankle. I don't think he is 100%.Cosmic Cowboy said:Also side note...Has any one seen Hayden Dalton???? He's gone missing. IMO, our 3rd best player is still Herndon. Next year I'd like to see a line-up of:
Conway/Liebs (pg)
JMac/Gorski (sg)
JJ/Dalton
Herdon/Moemeka
Naughton/Barnes
And we will only lose JMac next year.
Is Marshall even gonna be around after this year??? It's just a mystery situation and super disappointing because any way you slice it Marshall didn't cut the mustard this year. Not sure what's gonna happen this off season. If Marshall gets offloaded we need a big and a guard that both immediately contribute. I'd love for us to have a 9 player bench of contributors, its pretty much the program I've always wanted. You only need 2 guys to do the heavy lifting then utilize the team as whole to wear down opponents.ItSucksToBeACSURam said:And Marshall...
Which means he's right and we only lose JMac :lol:ItSucksToBeACSURam said:And Marshall...JimmyDimes said:And we will only lose JMac next year.
Shyatt didn't bring him along like he needed to and affected JJ's confidence. I'd say he regressed, actually. Basically did a crap job of developing the newcomers and youngsters. Everyone already knows how I feel.laxwyo said:Lander, no Justin James rants? Or after the last five games you've finally concluded that he's not the best option RIGHT NOW. He will be a stud.

Again, Shyatt knows more about basketball than you, me, or anyone else on this board, so if he doesn't want to play someone over someone else, then I trust his opinion more than yours or mine. And again, JJ has played plenty this year, he's averaging only 1 minute less per game than a guy by the name of Nance did as a freshman.
You said it yourself. We only won 13 games and came in 9th in the conference and that is with the benefit of having arguably the best season ever by a Cowboy. We didn't have to be this bad. Just my opinion, though.WestWYOPoke said:You act like this came out of nowhere. Josh's season was more than I could have ever dreamed.

Sign a JC or 5th year transfer big and we are talking about winning the tourney or at minimum an NIT bid. Shyatt missed out in filling our biggest need last spring. Feel bad for Josh because with a little help, this team could have been in a much better position. Especially considering how down the MWC is across the board.LanderPoke said:You said it yourself. Roughest thing about this year by far. If Marshall was a JC big that would just be a hair above even all our bigs now we'd be a top 4 team in this league imo. We'd probably be a top 4 team if Marshall was a guy even at his spot that could've given us a consistent 6-10 points a game (lets say he could be our 3rd lethal 3 point shooter), an assist or 2, and just play some starting caliber defense as a JC. We got neither and it's just been a hole in the lineup that's gotten a tad bigger since Trey left as well. Trey leaving didn't kill the season but it did give us one less contributor to help carry the load. C'est la vie.Wyolie Coyote said:Sign a JC or 5th year transfer big and we are talking about winning the tourney or at minimum an NIT bid. Shyatt missed out in filling our biggest need last spring.
