Pretty crazy to now having a 2 sport rivalry with SDSU for MWC supremacy. They've been hitting us pretty hard on the hardwood lately. I think Edwards is gonna take their athletic edge off a bit with his recruiting which is awesome. The football rivalry has been fucked up because of the past in the WAC. We didn't always see them right?? It's been on again since the MWC hit. Great to see us having another monster game with them in the headlights on the field. There's been a lot of classic SDSU vs WYO games. They've had some great players in the past too.

I'm so glad that Boise is not going to be able to dominate our conference any longer but will have some real competition - and I have always been a closet Poke fan. If we cannot win the championship I really hope it will be Wyo. How great is it that one of the biggest games of the MW season will be in two weeks and Boise will NOT be a participant. (That's IF we can get by Hawaii next week). Love to see you guys rise to power!

How good does their qb have to be when you hand it off to some maniac like Donnel Pumphrey? I haven't seen them play at all but to be over Brian "Da BEAST" Hill by that many yards rly: rly: rly:
Yeah that SDSU game is gonna be nuts. 2 of the top RB's in the nation squaring off. You know that means both O-Lines are towing their weight. Pokes should have a big chance in this game. Their run d seems better then the pass d.

I'm not gonna say they're the best. I don't watch enough college football and yards aren't everything. I do think these guys are most likely in the top 25 RB's. Watched video of Pumphrey. Shifty, extremely fast, breakaway speed, and good hands. Such a different set of tools then Hill.

I'm guessing there are other guys out there with some serious tools too. O-lines vs D-lines are hard to judge too. Who are you running against and behind? Other conferences have power players on those lines. Still cool to see 3 MWC teams floating around the top 25. Even better that WYO is a part of that conversation again.

Fournette for LSU is a pretty amazing back. Sure he's only played 4 games, but he's still averaging over 8 yards per carry, and that's against Wisconsin, Auburn, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss. Last season he was 47 yards shy of 2,000 yards at an average of 6.5 per carry.

Don't get me wrong. I kinda want to go start another Brian Hill is a fucking badass thread just because we do need another one man. His style is like a driven bull tank. Just keeps mashing for yards. His breakaway speed isn't the greatest but his overall attributes are so SOLID. Hill embodies a lot of the heart of this team. To me this Wyoming team has more heart then talent (especially on D). This Pokes football team seems like Rocky Balboa. To be a team of grinders is awesome! Represents the state well. Wyoming is forever the underdog but some truly great things run through it. The football loving fans deserve this team after being starved so long.

An SDSU epic game looms yet again................maybe twice more

You can't gauge what Aztec fans are like by reading what people post on a message board. There are many SDSU fans that understand that ALL true fans love their team - just like we love ours. When you get exposed to a very arrogant fan of any team, he or she does not necessarily represent what that fan base is like. Think about it, a few people are way too small a sample size to make any kind of judgement of what MOST Aztec fans are like. There were many positive comment on AztecMesa about how Wyoming earned the win and deserved a shot at the championship. We are not that different than you guys; we bleed red and black and (mostly) respect other fans that love their team. Sorry for the long-winded reply -- enjoy your victory; I'm sure it is very sweet.

Not sure I agree with this. When we went to the basketball conference championship game against them in vegas 2 years ago, they were the most arrogant bunch of assholes I've encountered. (We don't deal with them face to face much because neither fan bases travel to the opponent regularly) Not just arrogant about their team, but really really condesending about the fact that we were from "little ol' Wyoming" and they were from San Diego. Ugh. That is what really gets to me. Some of the same stuff you hear from CSU fans.

If Wyoming and SDSU can both take care of business, I think the conference championship game will garner quite a bit of national interest because there will be so many story lines. Hill vs. Pumphrey (especially if they both have big games in the first matchup); two teams playing each other within two weeks (never happens in college football) plus the winner may have a shot at the Cotton Bowl. Throw in a blizzard if the game's in Laramie and you have a pretty amazing scenario.

You have a solid point. Beating them in the MWC championship basketball game rivals most UW athletic events I have seen in person. Nothing better than shutting those arrogant asses up with there "WOOOO" calls throughout the T&M prior to the game. Not a peep after.

They kind of remind me of bWHYu fans, kiss your ass and nice to your face, then stab you in the back and run their mouths when you turn around.

Then again, a couple of their posters on the MWC message board, are the absolute trashiest pieces of shit I have ever encountered on a message board. I no longer read / post there as such. And those 2 - 3 SDSU posters certainly do give the rest a bad rap.
