if ever there was a game that once looked like a gimmie can quickly turn dangerous to us. I'm just glad this one is at home and although with it being a VDay Holiday weekend, I sure hope our fans don't jump ship too much and we come out and try to help support whomever will be on the floor tomorrow. We got back late from SD last night unfortunately so not alot of practice will gotten in, and maybe Larry can at least sit on the bench for moral support if he can't go. I just hope he's where he can give even a few minutes here and there.
The Spartans are a trainwreck but I bet they are extremely hungry for at least one conf win and a win over a D1 opponent overall. They gave us all we wanted on our 1st roadtrip in conference play as well, thanks to Riley's ft's
Hope to see many of you there and I think we right the ship and take some confidence in a short week going to Reno on Tuesday.
The guys will get it done and we get this one UW 58 SJSU 52...GO POKES

(kinda glad it's not played on Friday the 13th...lol)

scenarios, if CSU beats SDSU, we beat SJSU and Fresno beats Boise we'll be back in 1st tied with CSU and SDSU and we got that tiebreaker with CSU but would basically put us in 2nd seed, which i like better with where UNLV is lurking....hits just keep on coming...lol

In a 3 way tie as you describe, we would not have the 2 seed from a sweep of the Sheep. They will have swept SDSU and we got swept by SDSU. Would go further down the tiebreakers. Might hinge on our win against Boise. Would be interesting if CSU, SDSU, and us end up tied.

Ok 3 is good then, as long as we stay in the top 4 and UNLV keeps losing, the one thing you don't want to do is play them there regardless...although they lost Vaughn for the rest of the year, they are a trainwreck too
Fresno and Utah St scare me always have always will

"The score. Oh, the score. 56-53"

Or it could be:

"The score. Oh, shit, the score. 56-53"

I'm thinking this thing will be damn close. Whoever has the last shot takes it.

yeah it'll be a struggle, but this will show us how important this season and game is to our other guys, I just hope Larry at least sits the bench just as an observer if he can't give us 5-10 mins

It would be great if he could get in and play 5-10 minutes to begin to get his legs back and be ready to go at nevada.

I'm with you that I too predict this game will likely be close. WYO hopefully not headed into a tailspin. The team needs a W to "right the ship" and get back confidence.

At this point, I would be worried that putting him in would do more damage than good I.E. Health Setback

Well obviously you don't put him in if he is still sick.

probably Fresno St Feb. 25, makes sense, but i hope he at least sits the bench for moral support, I'd like to see that

Naturally, but the point is, mono can take several months to run its course. While he may not be actually sick with something, he can still have the mono. Putting him on the court at this time could run his system down enough that he gets sicks again.

It would be promising to see him on the bench, that would mean he has enough strength to manage a few hours on his feet. When I had my bout with mono, I couldn't do anything, I either laid in bed or laid on the couch for 3 weeks straight. Lost about 15-20 pounds too.

We need these next 2 games bad. We've somehow got to find a way through all the adversity right now to the W's. I kinda want us to throw Barnes into the fire now. What better stretch of games to get him in and working. Wouldn't mind if we played Herndon as sparingly as possible to let him recover as well. Even Fresno might be too early for Larry depending on how bad this is. It sucks if we had everyone back we could possibly run the table out with W's and MAYBE barely cling to at large chances with a run into the MWC tourney champ game. Right now though we have to prove we can win against the worst teams in the MWC without Larry. It seems without Larry we can be beat by double digits by all league teams until proven otherwise.....
LET'S GO POKES!!!!!
FIND A WAY!

How do we play SJSU? Do we go zone on D and hope they have a cold day in the DOME OF DOOM? I feel like our offense will find more points this game as their D isn't as stifling as SDSU's D was. We need to bomb these guys with 3's. Not sure how much points we can get out of a Cooke/Barnes low post combo. Hopefully they find some stick backs and we get them some easy layups/dunks. Adams is gonna have to CRUSH these guys. Silent Splash needs to drill some 3's. Freshmen are going to have to arrive on this day. All hands on deck once again and protect Laramie!

We need to whatever fucking possible to win.

If SJSU comes out shooting hot and full-court pressing us, we better make some damn adjustments.

We need this win so bad. We need to go and steal one from Reno as well.

Win these next two games at all costs.

Is that a misprint in the Denver Post this morning? LATEST LINE has Pokes over SJSU by 21? Huh? That's the biggest spread of any games listed. Hell, the Pokes might struggle to even score 21.

Yeah it is a misprint.

The line actually opened -19 but is now down to -18.5. I don't think Wyoming will cover that either.

The line is so big because SJSU has been beaten by everyone in conference on the road by anywhere from 24 points to 50 points except for when they played at Fresno St. they lost by 18.

Books are giving Wyoming too much credit still without Nance.
