Akron Preview

Reading Cody's write-up on Akron. They have won 15 games since the 2017 season and are currently under a postseason ban for academic performance. They are likely the worst FBS program out there (maybe UMass?) and worse than many FCS. It will be a disaster to lose this game.

They finished the season 3-2 and beat Toledo. They might not have shown up in the classroom last year but they finished the season strong

And then were hammered by the portal. Just like us, they have a lot of new faces. I doubt they are very good and unlikely would be a in the top 1/3 of FCS but doubt we are great either. Will be a close game I think.

*As bad as those teams are you’re forgetting about the two KSU’s (Kent St and Kennesaw St)

Just looked at the D lineup. Don’t know many kids on here. TBH, I spend time in Wyoming summer and winter, fall if the Pokes are worth two bits. Cuyahoga National Forest is a great park near our place. Some dudes on this site just look to add insulting comments. Ignore em. They got no life. Go Pokes, Go Bills. God bless.
Right about everything except one. Cuyahoga National Park not Forest. Go Pokes.

That’s dedication - not even a Wyoming fan and making the trip to Akron. I’ll be honest, I’ve traveled a lot of the country; Akron is probably close to my least favorite place I’ve been to. The people were generally nice but, other than that, I can’t name another positive other than maybe it is close to Canton and I guess a visit to the football hall of fame could happen.
Transplant here because of wife (who also happens to work at U of A) and can say that while apathy towards the team is at an all time high (doubt the stadium will be half full Saturday despite an attractive non-conference opponent) usually I find people who smear the other aspects of town are people who barely leave their car and comment about the views from the turnpike and I’m sorry but I don’t take kindly when people talk ill of this great country of ours. Rock Hall 30 minutes in one direction, Football Hall 30 minutes the other, CVNP located here, major outdoor music venue called Blossom, home of Goodyear blimp, Soapbox derby, original Loews Theater, Black Keys are back in town, Guardians AA farm team, and always something going on and full of history if you can appreciate any of that sort of thing. But you’re right, no mountains. Although if you’re familiar at all with US geography you’ll notice the Alleghenies are only 2.5 hours east of NE Ohio. People are friendly like you said and down to earth though like back home (although now I guess there are always some exceptions). Bless the USA! Go Pokes! O-H!
I will now be taking dining suggestions for anyone making the trip.

For dining I would hit up the beat writers 7220Sports Alex Taylor and Dion Anthony to let them know
