Edwards was at Kentucky, not Kansas
You are correct....got my letters mixed up UK. not KU.
Technically they're both UK. Kansas just wants to be unique lol

That's always bugged me. Same with CU.
And OU

OSU....Oklahoma State, Oregon State, and Ohio State.

If you go the State route, I don't think Boise State makes sense. Sure there is SDSU and Fresno State but I think they technically have other names.

I'm sure there are other <insert city> State Universities out there (Wichita State, etc.).

I don't disagree with you. I just meant that if you think the State portion sounds weird then the <insert city> State University sounds worse to me than <insert State> State University.

Don't get me wrong I enjoy the "Boise's not a state" chant

Yup, too much corn in their diets. And no elevation change... That Kansas is the flattest thing I've ever seen. Corn, corn , and more corn. Add a few silos and state troopers.... Such a great tourist state they have the praire dog museum... Man I sure do miss having to drive through Kansas.

I spent several years at Kansas University ( KU ) and NEVER heard it referenced as UK.
*University of Kansas
Yes, University of Kansas, spelled out or spoken, but never ABBREVIATED UK. Always KU.

That's the point of what we are talking about what schools have their abbreivations backwards or wrong.

Weird sidetrack for this thread but its the offseason.

No, no, no, my friend. It's wheat, wheat, wheat. You must have been using a Colorado product while driving through and didn't pay much attention. Corn, corn, corn is to the North where it is grown because it requires less intelligence to grow.
