I'm sure there is a learning curve, even for Bohl. The MWC was craptastic, so I thought we stood a chance of going bowling. Overall, my biggest disappointments are the performances after a bye and the defense.
My main concern with the system going forward is if we can get the linemen we need on both sides of the ball. Glenn wanted to and couldn't. I'm not at all saying Bohl can't, just that it has been a limitation of ours for some time. I think Bohl can do it, but I do worry about it.
Of main concern is the lack of awareness at WYO that we have other major cultural issues that are limiting success. Until this is addressed, I'm afraid we are destined to continue the path we are on.

I was out fishing at the Gorge all weekend and finally got around to watching the game last night. I was listening to Dave on the radio and when we turned it over on downs with about 2 mins left, I turned it off. Holy shi, I had no idea we had a shot at winning it at the end.
That said, I think this kind of a season was expected. We had shots to win games for sure. I saw a lot of growth by Colby. He wasn't the best QB to grace Jonah Field, but he showed some good signs. The wide open miss vs SJSU is burned in my mind forever. Anyway, I am not ready to throw in the towel for next year already. I actually like what I saw on several occasions this year.
As for 2015-

We will need to win 7 games next year for bowl game. That schedule above is less than thrilling non-conf schedule.
Teams in our division next year will be better as well. I don't see any team getting worse.
CSU will be better
USU will be better
Air Force will be better
NM will be better
Boise will be better
The question mark is still.....UW. Once again, a new QB. I would hope we are better as well. We have a lot of work to do. I just hope the players see they have to put in the work and not just show up and compete. Being a big man on campus means nothing unless you produce on the field. And I see A LOT of work to do.
I like our RB situation. Hill, Tapscott and Wick will be beasts. We need to focus on O line and get some hogs in here to block for these guys.
I like Hollister.
I really like Van Mannan. What an underrated position to play.
We have glaring holes on defense. A few on our D line are formidable. Our LB core this year was rough. Losing Nezocha hurt. I love Wacha's energy, he just needs 20 more lbs. Stanton was underwhelming for what I was expecting this year (I realize injuries), and Harris and some of the others were just over matched.
Gosh, as I write this, the more I realize that we are weak in a lot of key areas.
Lastly, Rufran not getting a TD this year was unfortunate. Classy guy. Thanks Dom for sticking around when you could have left with everyone else.

I am actually optimistic about next year.
We have an offensive line that will mostly be back, with a bunch of starts under their belts. Granted, there were a lot of mistakes in those starts, but that is how you learn. I also think we are starting to develop some depth, with several linemen being able to redshirt. I love our depth at running back and think our FB will grow a lot in the offseason, both physically and in terms of his football IQ. Add in the kid from Nebraska at receiver and some other athletes and we might have a good core developing again in the skill positions. At QB, I am really excited to see what the Coffman kid can do. We are several completed passes (and several fewer interceptions) away from a bowl season at UW - with nothing but injury after injury. Speaking of injuries, I think that, while painful this year (literally and figuratively), they helped to create depth and experience going forward. Add in a year of offseason conditioning and some guys who wore redshirts this year and we could start to develop a good core, especially on defense. I was very concerned about our linebacker and secondary depth for next year, and am still concerned, but have some hope that help might be on the way. I do think that we will have to address special teams...as they were anything but special this year.
All in all, the season was a little less than I had hoped for at the beginning, but all-in-all, I think Bohl has started the build. We still have a long way to go...but I actually have quite a bit of optimism.

I mostly agree with this. However, I think our most glaring deficiency is a deep threat. Look at what Smith did as a freshman with Doctson. Thankfully, we still had Herron but the loss of Doctson was immense. I realize finding big receivers who can run is not an easy task. However, it seems like every good team has one.

Yes Those receivers are coming back, but Maulhardt is slow and akward. Gentry struggled getting off the press and can't get consistant separation. The rest aren't proven as of yet. We need a fast, deep threat with hands, hopefully someone steps up or we get lucky with a recruit next season. Hopefully Sewell can be become the player he was supposed to be . Otherwise it's ground and pound while throwing to possession type receivers. Not an ideal situation.

We have a couple of recruits coming in one from Nebraska that is the #2 receiver in the state so he has a chance to be really good, another coming to us from Denver, a friend of Gentry a slot type of receiver I think he is pretty fast though. Of the receivers we have I think Sewell is in the bottom and is least likely to step up. I would say Pilapil, Simpson or Berger will play a lot. I don't see the others contributing.
i was at the game in ABQ saturday, and we did NOT look good at all, couldn't stop a cold, as usual, a pick 6 and a return for kickoff for a TD, pathetic, I left with 6 mins left as coming back from Ariz and needed to lessen the drive on Sunday, so stayed in Taos, NM, listened to the last few mins, man I sure hope we learn how close games next year and upcoming...
