I know that's what the weight room is for, and we will just have to wait til next year.
Very, very few DB's (safeties, and cornerbacks, just in case you're wondering what a DB is) come out of high school at or above 190 lbs. The average playing weight, across all classes, of most FBS corners is under 190 and the average for safeties is under 200. It's nothing for an incoming freshman to put on 10-20 lbs before Fall camp.
In short, the playing weight of these players is at or above the typical FBS DB recruit.
I swear, if you lose your virginity to two college cuties on a beach with crashing surf, you'll complain they weren't [INSERT SUPERMODELS NAMES HERE], despite the fact you have zero experience with losing your virginity OR supermodels.
Lol.

Neat. Don't really care.
Well to be fair, both Hill and Wingard were 2 star guys. Obviously there's plenty of examples of 2 star guys that have done nothing too thoughLanderPoke said:The thing that is concerning me a bit is a lot of our recruits don't have the 'stars' and offers from other schools. However, I watchjsut 2 star their tapes and they look every bit as good as the big name recruits, but for some reason don't have the publicity. I love their speed and size, too.
I just hope that the staff has identified some good under-the-radar talent. I am pretty confident Bohl has got some talented kids to commit, but there's still a twinge of doubt in the back of the mind. Go, Pokes
It seems we never get many players with an abundance of stars or other offers, yet we still get some really solid players. A large problem seems to be keeping them here. So many leave on their own before playing 4 years, which is what sort of set me off when I saw we cut Will, a contributor that didn't cost us a scholarship. Even Christensen, with all of his too many to list faults, was able to get good players to Wyoming. Keeping them here seems to be the trick.LanderPoke said:The thing that is concerning me a bit is a lot of our recruits don't have the 'stars' and offers from other schools. However, I watch their tapes and they look every bit as good as the big name recruits, but for some reason don't have the publicity. Yeah, he didn't exactly break away on his kickoff return.
I just looked him up on Rivals, as he looks so thin in this pic. They listed him at 220 in high school. But more interesting, I saw that he received an offer from the Pokes and he decided on Central Michigan instead.djm19 said:What a scrawny little fella. No way big enough for FBS.

Good thing Beav didn't recruit Watt!
I am kidding BTW
I looked up Glenn's class for that year after reading this. In the alternate reality where Watt was in the brown & gold he would have been a freshman with Josh Biezuns, Brian Hendricks, Gabe Knapton, and David Leonard. I forgot how well Joe Glenn recruited defense. Those are 3 of the best linebackers we've ever had in Laramie!cowboyz said:I just looked him up on Rivals, as he looks so thin in this pic. Watt committed to Central Michigan out of high school. He actually begun his career there as a TE and was later asked to move to offensive tackle. At that point, he left the school and joined the Wisconsin football team as a walk-on.
