This is where I'm at, too. As great as Hill was he's still a RB. It's not like we are losing our QB. I don't know about 10 wins, but 8-9 is surely possible.Cowduck said:If you think Brian Hill alone is worth multiple wins, you are on glue. The guy is the best back in Wyoming history, but a running back alone just is not responsible for the difference between being a good-to-great team and a mediocre one. I think 10 wins should be the expectation for next season.

All decent points, but other than Wood, the guys behind them have gotten a fair amount of playing time this year, particularly on defense.Asmodeanreborn said:Cowduck said:If you think Brian Hill alone is worth multiple wins, you are on glue. But that's not all we're losing.
On top of Hill and his 22 Touchdowns, we're also losing a 1,300 yard receiver who had 14 touchdowns.
A very good TE both as a blocker and threat in Hollister - who caught 7 TDs.
Our tallest and best mismatch receiver in Maulhardt - who had 600 yards.
An incredibly consistent punter with Wood.
An All-American lineman in Roullier.
I think our defense will improve, but even so, losing Wacha, May, and Appleby is a lot of experience.
I think our runningbacks will do well, but they're not going to match Hill's production, and they'll also cough up the ball a few times because of inexperience.
I just don't think we get 10 wins next year. At Iowa and Oregon at home will both be incredibly tough. Oregon had a bad year this season, but they're still way more talented than us. Taggart is a good coach - and I'd feel a lot better about that game if it was week 1.
Then we play at Boise State, and while they lose a great runner (like us), they're still a better team than us, and at home. Can we win that one? Yes. But to expect it? Ehhhh... I think not.
Similarly, I don't expect to go into Colorado Springs to win. I hope we'll be favorites going into it, but I also know it's always a tight game.
Lobos will be tough too, but we play them at home, so I actually do expect us to win that one.
What I do think about next season is that we'll start seeing that we have depth, and that's something we haven't seen in very long. On top of that, with how much Rothe improved over the season, I expect his production early on will be a lot better than this year.

Hills gone - we all know that. Ridiculous to even consider Josh going after his sophomore year. He knows he needs more experience. Nonsense to even post that he would go this year.Adv8RU12 said:That's the way I saw it too. I said nothing about them actually going (which they very well may do) but IF they go (by getting hurt. Or getting locked up. Or quitting for some reason) then 6-6.
