At least Laramie is within good distance of the Big Sky conference footprint. Won't have to travel too far if we join.

Let's not forget that your mom works at one of those aforementioned bars in Greeley. That is good, too.

This thread may contain the funniest stuff I've ever seen online.

Afton?

"You'll love it here, son. Hell, it ain't but a 40 mile drive for a decent cup of coffee. And...hold on to your hair extensions...if your coach lets you, you can visit the flesh pots of Smoot any time you want."

"A lot of folks around here like Heggs Grillin' Barn for a burger or you can drive up to Thayne to hit up Juan's House of Tacos"

Both are delicious, by the way.

Wish Juan's was around when i was wee little lad

Name two towns that would be better for UW to be in than Laramie?

Sheridan. Evanston. Casper. Cheyenne. Pine Bluffs. Big Piney. Afton. Alpine (hey all your entertainment needs are just 2 hours away in Idaho falls, ID after you brave treacherous roads)

Laramie is Farson with a university.

Maybe since these athletes don't have as much time it'd be nicer to have options a little closer than 2 hour drive to Denver.

WHAT?

Alright, who hacked your account? Or are you hammered drunk? You can't possibly believe that Sheridan, Evanston, Pine Bluffs, Big Piney, Afton, Alpine has more to offer than Laramie. And Casper and Cheyenne don't have much more, unless you are into the Green Door and 1/2 empty malls.
The Green Door is still around? I fell in love there in 1981. I'm pretty sure she us still hot...

#1 check this IP address, there are anti ndsu people out there that do stuff to make us look bad. i.e hayduke, Darrel, etc

#2 Location or FBS or FCS or P5 or whatever don't mean squat unless your winning, so win and they will come.

#3 Iowa City, Boise & Manhattan KS are small town crapholes that are no better than Laramie or fargo and they have winning teams with good recruiting so there you are.

carry on with your thread drift & feel free to delete this guy, we would never say "Nodak Bizon"

Boise has more than 215,000 people with a metro area of over 660,000 and it's a "small town craphole"? Do you even use your brain?

Oh, take East Lansing, MI, off that list.

That's a nice and fun town.

Honestly, I was considering putting Ann Arbor on that list too. Nice university, but I was not impressed by the town at all.

Cincinnati might be the scariest university in the country.

UK is pretty damn nice. Princeton is amazing. Marshall is a shit hole.

Wyoming has as nicer campus than any of these except Princeton but all these places have a 1000 times more things to do than Laramie does. Laramie is a dump. Is UW the only university that resides in a dead town?
Anyone from Rock Springs calling any town a dump is pure comedy. Everyone knows we invented Wamsutter so Rock Springs folks could feel superior to something other than road kill.

HAHA...spot on, well put!

All this bullshit about Laramie and UW not being paradise, tough to recruit to, etc., pisses me off. Any of you ever played D1 football in the last 20 years? Tell me how much "free time" you have to go do other things in the community...no matter where that community is located.

It is like a bunch of you think the kids have every weekend off, every night off, and have all this free time. You don't get it, and you don't understand the day in a life of the D1 football player. Hence one of the reasons the NCAA started allowing universities to pay athletes extra $$ on the side.

Oh, and Denver is 2 hours away last time I drove that route. That is a typical commute-for-entertainment (pro sports, concerts, clubs, etc.) at a lot of other schools throughout the country. So if you really need it that style of "to-do", and you really have the time for it after your dedication to being a fully funded athlete, it is there for you.
I can attest to that. While playing college football nothing else matters except the routine of class, meals, workouts, practice, sleep. Murfreesboro Tennessee might as well have been the moon to me because I didn't have a chance to do anything else.

Solid post from another dip shit. Laramie isn't a paradise, but better than anything North Dakota has to offer. Get lost.

I'm sorry, I had to laugh out loud copter after this post.

Fargo isn't paradise, but it's metropolitan area is more than 6x bigger than Laramie's, NDSU is a bigger student body than Wyoming with more women, not including the 2 other major colleges it pulls from, a lakes community that seeps vibrancy 4 months out of the year and trumps anything the mountains of laramie have to offer, and actually has a very prideful community in terms of area college athletics.

Both places have garbage weather, are boring as hell about 8 months out of the year, and are more than afterthought's afterthought to 99% of the population who aren't going to waste time or money spending even 1 more day that they already have to there.

I see both WYoming and NDSU fans doing it, and there is nothing more hilarious than 2 disjointed communities pumping their chest about which one is better. It's like who's the better QB - Jay Fiedler or AJ Feeley?

BAck to the topic, I still think Craig Bohl turns this around and you'll see a much better team in year 3 and then in year 4.

 You couldn't even get through one post without contradicting yourself.

Contradicting means you made two statements that don't agree with each other. On one hand, you seem to ridicule people for claiming one town is better than the other; then, on the other hand, you make claims of Fargo superiority. Superiority means, well, go here if you have trouble keeping up with the board... http://dictionary.reference.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

My thoughts exactly. Plus 1/2 the town is in Minnesota. ND can't even claim 1/2 of that crappy town.

So I Googled the top 10 things to do in Fargo. Here's the exciting list:

1. Visit the Plains Art Museum to enjoy exhibitions that include paintings, photography, sculptures and other art forms.

2. Venture through the Red River Zoo and learn more about the variety of species it has to offer.

3. Fly, don't walk, to the Fargo Air Museum to see historic aircrafts.

4. Watch an independent or foreign film at the restored Fargo Theatre, or catch a concert, play or other live event at the venue.

5. Enjoy a Broadway show at the Gate City Bank Theatre, located inside the Fargodome.

6. Play a round of golf at one of the many courses available, such as Edgewood Golf Course, Rose Creek Golf Course and Prairiewood Golf Course.

7. Tour Bonanzaville and learn more about the culture and history of Cass County and the Red River Valley.

8. Shop the many stores located in the West Acres Shopping Center.

9. Swing by the Roger Maris Museum, also located in the West Acres Shopping Center; Maris, a Fargo native, played for the New York Yankees and is known for hitting 61 home runs in 1961.

10. Search for recognizable names – and hands and feet – at the Celebrity Walk of Fame, which can be found outside the Fargo Welcome Center.

With all of this cool shit going on, it's a wonder this isn't a top 10 destination spot for the entire US. Fuck Yellowstone, I'm going to the Fargo Celebrity Walk of Fame this year....
