Name me what D.1 schools DO NOT release a depth chart following Spring Ball? That statement of yours about how if Bohl was sincerely worried about the QB position he wouldn't have released a depth chart stretches with all due respect all creditability. If you had listened to Bohl you would have heard him say, if I had to release one this is what it would be and remember that it is very fluid. Coach Bohl gave about every type of qualifier that he could....basically saying that "don't hold me to it, but at this moment, this is how the depth chart looks". It sounds like you also ignored Bohl's statement after Spring Ball that said that they were not even close to where they needed to be at the QB position.....does that sound like a coach that wasn't worried? Hardly. Sorry but your argument holds about as much water as my 94 yr old father.
The offense that DC ran was not tailored to any one athlete, and Kirkegaard and Thornton were recruited to the same offense that Smith ran....DC didn't recruit these guys to one type of offense and then change it up. These guys were recruited to the Spread Offense period.
Your argument also doesn't hold water on the simple point, that if he was so satisfied with Kirkegaard and Thornton and Stratton and Young then why was the trying to bring in Pete Thomas?
I have full faith in Bohl and Vigen in preparing the best that we can for the games next season, but Coach Bohl has given several very obvious statements that he is not at all satisfied with the level of QB play that Wyoming has. He openly stated it and was trying to bring in another QB to compete, how can you ignore these things?
