This ones on us. Boise doesn't bring many fans.

Boise doesn't bring many fans this weekend in or in general?
Because they definitely travel well.

Maybe to Oregon State. Not to Laramie. I can't remember a game in Laramie when there were a bunch of Boise fans. They're better than CSU, but I would be surprised if there are more than 500 of them on Saturday.
Last Boise game I went to in Laramie, there were thousands of Boise fans there.

There are zero rooms available in Laramie right now. There were very few a week ago. Those rooms aren't all Wyoming fans....

They traveled over ten thousand to LV for a bowl game I attended. At least five thousand to a Utah game in SLC I attended...

Boise is probably the top traveling fan base in the conference.

Yep. Last Wyo-Boise State game I went too, I think Kellen Moore was still at Boise, there were a shit ton of Boise State fans.
That was what I recall. There were a bunch in the other end "H" not just "A". Asshats acted like they owned the place.

Lol. And people complained about the reduced capacity with the Wildcatter expansion a few years ago, we still can't fill it up...

What sport will have a sell out next and when? Football or men's basketball?
I'll say football, and I'll get greedy and say next year vs CSU

Next year when Oregon comes to town, no question

Hell that one is easy, football no doubt. We couldn't sell out the AA one time with the likes of Larry Nance, Josh Adams, Derrick Cook on a MWC tournament championship team.

It's not like we routinely used to sell out the War...ever. This is pretty good. Could be better, could be worse. It's not like the stadium's going to be empty. Dang. This is probably going to be the most Wyoming fans in the War in almost two decades (assuming there's a bigger crowd than for Air Force).

The 2010 Boise St game had a attendance of 29014. I believe it was also 5pm start and we were not playing for a MWC title.
Was it late? Yeah, but that was more of a premium out of conference game. They were #3 in the country. More like Texas and Nebraska. So, not really apples to apples. For some reason Pokes fans turn out for those certain ass kickings. Doesn't make much sense. Didn't Boise bring like 3-4k to that one thus only making it like 25k Pokes fans?

The later the game is in the day and the later the game is in the year the less likely the game is to sell out.

Bottom line is it's going to take a few years of consistent winning to get to sell-out level. We're not that far off, though. Will be a great crowd Sat.

Unless they fire Helfrich, I doubt it.

You don't think we will sell out next years Oregon game? I am willing to bet a pretty penny that one sells out

Oregon is 0 -4 in conference this year. Sure don't see as many "O" in everyone's pickup windows anymore. Doubt it's a sellout.

Well in my few years in Laramie, the only sellouts (that I can remember off the top of my head) were when other schools brought a lot of fans with. Specifically the Boise State, Texas, and Nebraska games.
Oregon isn't happy with Helfrich, and their continuous sellout streak recently ended. The bandwagon is emptying.
I don't know that they will bring enough fans to sell out in Laramie.

Now, I say this without intending to piss fellow Poke fans off, but we just don't pack the War on a continuous basis. I think people on here have put the numbers up before about how even in our most successful years we don't average that many people, compared to what we think we could/should be averaging.

So no, unless we bring in a team that is high in the rankings, I don't see us selling the game out for the yucks.

Things are changing. But, I think Oregon brings a solid name and a chance for the Pokes to get another signature win. Plus, an early season game is a better for pulling in a big crowd. The past two home games have given us a average over 25K. No reason to think we can't get a couple more on a nice September day/evening.

When Wyoming played Virginia, there were over 31K in attendance. Just for reference. And, if I were to go back and look at attendance figures for home games vs P5 programs in September....I think most would be close to currently capacity. Some of those programs brought some fans...nothing like Nebraska brought. We added extra seats for them and Texas. Mississippi brought a large contingent. Others not as much. So, it isn't like it hasn't happened and can't happen going forward.
