Rumors are flying that the SEC has offered Missouri an invite!
And to think just a few hours ago on the radio and official announcements online have said otherwise.

Until this crap is officially announced, I don't buy any of it.

Latest rumors......Big East wants Army, Navy, Air Force, and East Carolina.

My feeling.....If the Big East losses UCONN and Rutgers to the ACC in the next few days. AFA aint joining nor would Army and Navy.

Actually, this is quite a bit different from the SEC- Texas Youth Corps situation.

The PAC-12 still holds a pretty high academic standard as part of its identity. The release says the no-expansion decision followed a vote by the school presidents and chancellors. I'd bet good money the U-Cal schools are simply unwilling to admit the likes of Tech and Okie-State. If those two are roped to UT and OU, they will be deal-killers, dragging UT and OU off the PAC-12 slope with them.

Any move to the SEC by either TYC or Mizzou is likely to get mired in litigation, and if it looks too messy to the SEC, I can see them backing out.

As for the Big East, it's done, and it was only a matter of time given their football/ basketball-only structure and their geography.

Personally, I think the Big X(II) drama will be so drawn out that they will likely be around for a couple more years at least with a strong possibility that TCU winds up there after the BE gets pulled apart. If they get TCU and, say, Louisville and UT has to make concessions, the Big X(II) could find stability going forward. Basically, that conference is a scenario of having to decontaminate their vital resource that UT polluted in all their hubris- and if UT can't rein it in, I wouldn't be at all surprised if they took a stab at independence. They appear to be the BYU of the BigX(II) at this point. The Texas Legislature, however, might be the problem there.

I don't think we need to use that kind of language, do we? LOL. I know what you mean, they are the egotistical member of the conference that wants everything their way and monopolizes all meetings with their issues. But still, I hate to call them BYU.
