The winners in all of this, if we're being honest, is billable hours.

That said, I don't think anyone truly "won" this situation. The biggest win would have been finding a way to have Washington State and Oregon State join the Mountain West; whether through a reverse merger or another arrangement that combined media value while preserving the Pac-12's NCAA units. It feels like pride on all sides prevented that outcome.

Oregon State and it's dumbassed ego and the PAC-XX commish wanting to keep her job at any cost are the only reasons the merger never happened. I honestly believe Wazzu woulda been o.k. with a merger.
