I presume an NDSU add is football only with NDSU leaving its Olympics in the Summit.

What would be interesting if said event happened is if a football only member would get a full share just like Gonzaga.

NDSU has a 10 year media deal that started in 2020 with Learfield paying about $2 million per year with no production costs to ndsu.

If they lost a substantial proportion of that deal with football gone and the pee12 is around a $3 million option it might not be as enticing.

Every million that goes to additional teams costs the current pee7 (and team 8) at least $250,000 using $65 million as the total media compensation. My guess is NDSU would need a minimum of $4 million to make it worth considering a move.

That math doesn’t compute to me. A 9th football team can only bring MORE overall money because it is more inventory. It can’t stay the same. Undoubtedly, a TV partner is going to offer more money for more games or there is the ability to capitalize with multiple tv partners. This is the entire reason NIU was added to the MWC.

1) A conference schedule for 8 conference teams is a total of 57 games (7 conference games for each team and a championship game).

2) A conference schedule for 9 conference teams is a total of 73 games (8 conference games for each team and a championship). After 9, there is no more value because presumably you max out at 8 conference games per team.
