Overall, things aren't that bad

One argument the coach can give to recruits to make them come to Wyoming: "We suck and need help right now - you will probably start as a Freshman"

If it makes any difference.. Brady Hoke is the next Brian Kelly.. dude is going to shoot through the coaching ranks.

Just a couple things I saw at the game yesterday - most fans wouldn't even give them a second thought, but I think they had much to do with our game performance and that of ACS's.
1. The high snaps - they went on the entire game. They take away from ACS's concentration and confidence on every play. He is probably wondering if the ball is going to sail over his head or else he is reaching above his head to get the snap which takes his full attention. This should not be an issue at this point in the season.

2. SDSU blitzed on probably 80% of all the plays yesterday, yet we didn't do much to stop the blitz like screen passes or draw plays. The QB draws that were used seemed to work when we used them - which was seldom.

3. We are giving their QB way too much time to stand back in the pocket and check his receivers and wait for them to get open.

Yes, yes, and yes. And every one of these is coaching.

You make a good point here, WYCowboy. Lindley was hobbled the entire second half, I think if we get pressure on him, he starts going down and tossing bad passes. But we continually blitzed 4 d-lineman. I think if we put pressure on the QB we see a different game. There was no way they'd have gotten those long passes off if we sent some LBs or CBs in on the QB. :twocents:

4 turnovers that likely prevented 3 touchdowns and gift-wrapped one for them. Total difference 28 pts, and we lost by 3. Last week we give up 4 big plays for 28 points and lost by 10.

The sky is not falling. Not many teams can give 28 points to anyone and still come away with a victory.

Pokes didn't give 28 points (not even 21) to anyone but rather shit down their legs when they had a chance to actually do something. However, to your point, teams with a defense not in LAST PLACE in all of D1A football could've still come away with a victory against a team that hasn't won in 2 years. You're right, though, the sky isn't falling - it fell in Provo or Laramie last week.

At the risk of being labeled a "bad fan," 4 season tickets with CBJ seat backs just officially got vacated.

Wow, I thought games and seasons like this were done with JG. Another season like this and will probably turn in my Pokes fan card and go back to powerlifting as a hobby. it is less painful than this.

I really really hope the players/coaches learn from this loss and never let something like this happen again. last year we managed to win late and this yaer we have found ways to blow it. we will be a veteran team next year and we better play like it.

I knew we were'nt very good but this loss shocks me. New Mexico is a team that gave up 225 points in their first 4 games. Before today, their highest output was 20 points. They pushed our front 7 around at will. They kept possession of the ball for the last 5 1/2 minutes and we could not come close to stopping them.

No one can say this is a program on the rise. We have very little talent on either side of the ball. In 2 years, DC has produced 4 conference wins over 4 teams that had a combined 6 conference wins last year. With 1 more loss, we guarantee at least a tie for last place in the conference. Frankly, it's where we belong.

I realize that DC needs time for his recruits to "get some birthdays". But even so, I expect more than last place and no wins. And thats where were headed.

I think we have some talent. The talent just fumbled the ball twice and threw a pick when we put together a nice drive in under a minute. Did you see the runs those guys had yesterday? I'd say they are plenty talented against a terrible team. We did shit down our leg. Doesn't mean they don't have the talent. We had the talent to blow that crap team out of the water. It happens in sport. Everyone's really disappointed in yesterdays game, but I saw an offense that was moving the ball. 536 yards of offense is pretty good. We'll win 95/100 with those yards and i'll take it every time.
