Our coaching staff...

Maybe this builds a little confidence. We are lucky AF but sometimes thats the way it goes. The coaching staff has a lot to improve. At least the D made some adjustments. The game plan was obviously shit. It helps being physically and knocking out their qb and banged up their WR.

Braden johnson is the Man. Caden made some plays when it mattered.

We got lucky. We have good skill position talent, but we do not use them very well. A lot of it is on Anderson, but play calling has to be way better.

I’d still fire the whole staff if I were in charge

The indecision of Sawvel is frustrating. Why do we as the HOME TEAM at 7,220ft above sea level fail to kick the ball into the endzone on every kickoff when our opponents do it with EVERY kick. Its clear he should just fire Edminson and have the freshman from Cheyenne handle the kickoffs but he refuses to. Same with keeping Evan as the starter last year for 8 games.

The real problem with Sawvel is that even if he gets better, you can’t see the type of coaching we need to take us to the next level unless he finds a young offensive coordinator from an innovative coaching tree. I see nothing. It’s easy to see programs that do because they explode onto the scene with dramatic results. I’m watching 49ers and Shanahan just makes every qb look good. Mac Jones looks like Tom Brady. Purdy looks good for them. There’s programs all over the country that produce huge offensive numbers from programs that don’t necessarily have the superior talent. Dig damn it! Burman and Sawvel should be scouting for this as much as they scout for players.

Hell, using some Grok, maybe looking at Adam Austin at Tarleton St would be good. They average like 47 pts per game through 7 games Not saying that’s the guy but a few minutes of research gives you some directions to look at least

I don't disagree but it's a fine line. Joser is a good example. Gimmic offense that isn't nuanced enough and is relatively easily adapted to. Their main problem obviously is a complete lack of run game.

I like your Shannahan example for offensive style. Has to be something college kids can learn but I agree.

We got lucky as hell, But I’ll take it
A very honest assessment. The oddsmakers agree. We are 5 1/2 pt underdogs at Air Force - whose 1-5 record includes a win over Bucknell. The interceptions, the special teams fckups, and general offense ineptitude is going to have to get cleaned up to beat even a bad Air Farce team.

This Air Force team is young and has scored at least 30 points in every game. They should have beat both Navy and UNLV but for end of game collapses. They are a monster that is about to wake up. I see our chances as not good. I pick AFA to win the new MWC next year.
