Our coaching staff...

Personally, I haven't really had any problem with the play calling on either the defensive or offensive side of the ball. The play calling has been fine.

What bothers me most about this coaching staff is how we always seem unprepared for an opponent. Just look at our first half vs second half point differential. We are -43 in the first half and +28 in the second half.

That just screams of poor game preparation. To the coaches credit, they are obviously making the appropriate adjustments, but it seems to take them forever to do it. By the time they do get things turned around, we've dug ourselves a major hole we have to try to dig out of. It's like they haven't even considered that their initial plan might not work as they intended and that they should have some contingency plans already in place depending on how the game starts.

But I'm sure Sawvel has some really good explanation for the huge variance in point differential between halves. Us lay folk must be overlooking something that only a coach with 6-12 career head coaching record has the insight to ascertain. After all, this is a coach that took and 8 win team with very little turnover and transformed them into a 3 win team in only one season. How dare anyone question his coaching ability - just look at his results!

I see on the roster sheet that we have co-special teams coaches. It may be time to go get a real ST coach and not really on the Bobbsy twins to get us through. One punt return for a TD does not salve over two blocked punts for TDs (in the same game), a functional KO return for a TD, and a botched punt return that should've cost of the game on Saturday.
Deblanc scored one but muffed one on the two yard line, essentially canceling out his TD! In total, special teams were an abject disaster yet again!
