OT: Rockies Trade Tulo

I'm a huge baseball fan and watch about 3 or 4 games a night.

I'm an Angels fan though . Not a Rockies fan but this isn't a bad trade Reyes is a good player most of the time but he does sometimes get stupid errors he has no business getting.

Good pick up for the Jays for sure. They are already baseballs best offense. This will be a step up for them on the fielding side of the ball. They have a shot at the wild card and outside shot at their division although it looks like the Yankees are starting to pull away as they have been hot.

That Cubs /Rockies game tonight was one of the best I have watched this year.

While bittersweet I think this trade will bear out as a good one for all involved. Tulo has a shot at immediate meaningful baseball while the Rockies get young, talented, (hopefully multiple) highly touted arms to build for the future. And they get a huge long term salary off the books.

Do you have any confidence that the Rockies can develop these arms? I sure as hell don't.

This makes me as sad as when the Rockies traded Larry Walker to St Louis.. just horrible. The Rockies incompetence lead to Tulo's departure. I'm particularly sad I never got to see him play in person, by far my favorite player. Tulo is one of about two players (Helton the other) the Rockies have ever had success from the farm system.. everyone else flamed out or was moved before they could make a large impact. The Rocks can get all the arms they want, but they can't develop them. Just look what happened in the two pitchers they got in the Ubaldo trade. Definitely hate baseball today.

I think their infield will be fine long term. Trevor story as the short term SS, then move him to 2b when Brendan Rodgers is ready. Just hope we win the lotto and some of these prospect pitchers pan out. I for one, won't be holding my breath.

I get trading Tulo though - he is a China Doll. May as well get it done while he still has value. Bad news for him as well - he will have to find a place to sleep in that drab dreary city of Toronto - yuck.

Trade Tulo, flip Reyes, trade Cargo and all the sudden Colorado has one of the lowest payrolls in the mlb meaning the Monforts pocket more money. I hope I eat these words after the Rockies sign some high quality free agents this off season but I highly doubt it.

Haha, I said high quality. I was hoping for someone like David Price who will be a free agent but I know better than that.

I'm pretty sure they are going to flip Reyes. They will save a lot of money. Still not a bad deal as they could have kept everything as it was and finish close to last place and still be paying out the high contracts. I would expect them to look to sign some good young talent with the extra money if they do indeed flip Reyes.

I believe they will try to flip Reyes as well. If not before the trade line then definitely this winter. Maybe package him with DJ or Blackmon. I just have a hard time seeing them signing any big time free agents. They have 2 things working against them in terms of free agent pitchers: No one wants to pitch at Coors even for more money, and cheap owners.

It has been announced that Cargo has been officially put on the trade block and is being shopped. He'll be gone soon too which sucks but his trade value is as high as its maybe ever been this week, we can hopefully get another group of young studs. Only time will tell.

That's a good point. Even the flawless St. Louis Cardinals organization and their fans watched Pujols walk off. The Angels might see Trout one day return to Philly, who knows.
