OT...Is anyone else having problems getting on?

Brandon, does the www in front of it make a difference? In theory it shouldn't, but you're way more web savvy than I am.

Okay, update on this, definitely change your bookmark to https://wyonation.com if you're having your problems. The setting for the site prefers that over www.wyonation.com. So please, update to the first address and it should take care of that problem.

It does. The browser will handle the cookie domain differently. Add in the redirect, and things can get wonky quickly.

On a side note, it looks like your using a Comodo SSL cert - it will expire in February. It's not my site, but I would setup Lets Encrypt in a cron job on the server. You won't have to pay for certificates anymore, and can still have SSL. If your interested in doing that, PM me. I'll be happy to volunteer some time to get that setup.

I have my bookmark for this site at https://wyonation.com but I still have problems with staying logged in whenever I leave. When I RARELY use Chrome, I have no problems but I use Internet Explorer 99.9% of the time. I know! I.E. is crap! So sue me!!! :roll:

Funny thing is I have no problems with any other message board including the Portland State message board which is similar to this one!!!

Maybe you have a goofy config in IE that deals with cookies a certain way. If it works in Chrome, but not IE, I'd say you have a problem local to your PC and not the site.. Haven't looked at IE in a while to see what its native settings are.

The Portland State site is hosted by the same server as this one, if memory serves correct. But not sure if their config is different or not.. haven't been on that site in a few months.

Professionally, I would recommend Chrome and Firefox over Edge or IE. You'll have better browsing experiences in doing so.

I've ran both McAfee and Malwarebytes and both says I'm clean. Funny thing is that the last time this happened, everything went back to normal when I get in here within a few days. It's gotta something screwballed with my I.E. but damned if I knew what is!

I doubt a virus/malware is the source of your problem. Its more than likely something in IE (cache/cached cookies/etc). I would really use firefox or chrome if I were you.

I'm willing to bet it's the IE cache/cookies but I have no idea how to fix it IF there's even a way TO fix it. Strange thing is that it'll act up for a while then, it'll go back to normal for a few months then, boom...acts up again.

Wyokie - try this process:

http://www.google.com/chrome

Original quick link/favorite link for me is a bust. Whenever I tried it, it went to a server error page until I googled wyonation itself. Now, it seems to log me out every so often with the new save.

I had the same problems and I still have to re-login eventhought I set mine to automatic.

Had this problem for months now. It’s super annoying. I check this site much less than I used to....

I've found if I don't check the site for a few weeks to a month, it will log me out. But it keeps me logged in if I come here more regularly than that.

I just logged in. I can open a new tab on my browser and it will make me sign back in. Were not talking days, weeks, months. I'm talking seconds to minutes.
Do you have it entered as "https://"? Once i bookmarked that i haven't had an issue staying logged in using chrome on either PC or mobile

I have indeed. The mods here have tried helping. It’s perlexed all of us

Been using Firefox for I don't know how long, added that address to favorites, and I was still logged out.

I'll try it again when I get home tomorrow night. Just had ankle surgery this morning in Fort Collins.

Yes, again.

I'm using IE at work(I have to) and I have been having no problems. I have in the past from time to time but this week I have not been logged out at all.

I'm starting to wonder if the problem is with Cox Cable here in lovely ( :roll: ) Oklahoma City. Problem started about the same time Cox's website started going wacko.

Sorry for the delay - been traveling.

Try clicking the hyperlink at the bottom of the page that says "clear board cookies." Then try clearing the cache with the URL I put above. Close browser, reopen it. go to https://wyonation.com (update your bookmark if you haven't). That should take care of it.

https://kb.wisc.edu/page.php?id=15141 --> IE clear cache + cookies
https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/32050?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en --> Chrome clear cache + cookies

Firefox:

Firefox

From the History menu, select Clear Recent History.

If the menu bar is hidden, press Alt to make it visible.
From the Time range to clear: drop-down menu, select the desired range; to clear your entire cache, select Everything.
Next to "Details", click the down arrow to choose which elements of the history to clear; to clear your entire cache, select all items.
Click Clear Now.
Exit/quit all browser windows and re-open the browser.

Cleared the cookies, restarted Firefox, and now have the main page (not the forum index page) as my quick link/favorite bar. So far, it seems to be working.
