Longhorns are going to drive that conference down the shitter one way or the other.

That whole conference is going to implode soon. I would be shocked if the MWC wasn't a 12 team league by poaching a few teams from the Big 12. Really hoping for Kansas and Kansas State, but I wouldn't be opposed to getting Oklahoma State either.

First off I saw this coming MONTHS ago.

Secondly....

Look for the Mountain West to grab both Kansas schools AND Texas Tech and Okie State!

Bye-Bye Big XII!!!!!

I am not optimistic at all about this. If OU and AssToMouth head to the SEC, what is stopping the other BIG12 schools from poaching the MW (and CUSA) and keeping the BIG12 name / TV money / BCS AQ bid / Etc.??

Wyoming is quite frankly, on the outside looking in. Thank you Leefucking Moon, Garyfucking Barta, and Tomfucking Burman.

I could easily see the BIG12 Looking like this:

Division "A"
Baylor
SMU
Okie State
Texas
Texas Tech
Houston

Division "B"
Kansas
Kansas State
Missouri
Iowa State
*UNLV
*SDSU

*(Or bWHYU, NM, CSU, AFA, Boise, Etc.)

I personally see the Big XII grabbing AFA, CSU, Boise, BYU, UNM, and Wyoming (AFA will insist on adding Wyoming).

But I doubt the Big XII leftovers will poach the MWC. It'll be the other way around.

My 1st post didn't go through :tickedoff: !! It was so well written but in short====

I said I'm for the "Noble Men of Kyle" to go to the SEC but not the Zero-U-ers.
I said I wanted to stick it to the Whorns because they have stuck it to so many of us for years.

I can see Texas as Berlin, conquered and divided into 4 sectors, controlled by Ponies, Frogs, Owls and Cougars. I'd wear the Burnt Orange down to nothing.

I would not schedule Texas in any sport.

I agree, but A&M won't have a choice. My parents work at A&M and live in College Station, and their Alumni, students, and boosters would throw a FIT if they didn't schedule the tsips in at least football (and probably basketball and baseball).

I can see A&M and OU going to the SEC (if OU goes, so will OSU), but I don't think that leaves the Big ? in a position to poach many MWC schools. And I doubt they'll go after BYU. IMO, the leftovers will see a chance to become a bigger fish in the smaller pond of the MWC. I think the MWC picks up at least the Kansas schools and maybe Texas Tech or Iowa to get to 12 or 14. Doesn't do a ton for the number of TV sets, but it would probably improve the numbers for BCS consideration.

By the way, if the Big 12 (or whatever they are now) does implode, what happens to their auto bid? Shouldn't it automatically go to the MWC, since we're the most deserving conference? Or do we still have to go through the BS review that's out there now?

GO POKES!

My prediction:

Should the MWC get the Kansas schools plus Okie State (they won't go to the SEC with OU - SEC won't invite OSU) and Texas Tech AND the Big XII implodes, the MWC will get the Big XII's Automatic spot in the Fiesta Bowl (was a WAC bowl in the 1970s). Bank on it!!!!! Been right so far!

The key to all of this.....Thompson getting the Kansas schools to join the MWC! After that, everything else is icing on the cake.

So, a conference rivalry between the Cowboys the Okie State ripoffs?

Might as well. Both universities have similar histories plus there's no way they're going to the Southeastern Conference with OU. They'll bitch about it but Okie State can't force the SEC to take them.

There is a thread on ponyfans where one of the guys linked a radio show interview.
The show was Unsportsmanlike Conduct with Kevin ? and Mike ? on 1620 am The Zone out of Omaha.
The guest was David Sandhof of AggieWebsider.com.
David Sandhof said that Texas A&M talks to the SEC's Mike Slive on a weekly basis independently of OU.
David Sandhof said that he can see TAMU joining the SEC next June.
There aren't just problems with Texas but also with ESPN, who bought a game from Fox etc.
And that most of the Aggies being tied to the Texas' hip is from the older Ags and not so much from the younger Ags.
I'd stay far away from Texas and I'll just stop right there..........

The A is done but the TM is a no go with the wife

Here's more from Mountain West Connection on what this could mean to the MWC:

DAMNED UW Administration!!!!!!!!
Like I've said in the past, the MWC need to be proactive not reactive. The WAC isn't dead because Boise State left, its dead because Benson thought the sh!tstorm ended last June and didn't anticipate Fresno, Nevada, and Hawaii leaving in the fall. They just need to be prepared. I'm really hoping they attack the Kansas schools....like....yesterday.

This is what I possibly see happening if OU and A&M go to the SEC.
1. OSU also follows to SEC
2. KU, KSU and possibly Missou and Tech go to MWC.
3. ISU and Baylor go C-USA
4. Texas goes Independent
5. Missou also a possibility for Big 10/12

MWC then gains AQ status at the demise of the Big 12.

Could be a good opportunity for our conference. Let's wait and see how it plays out!
