This would actually be a great scenario for the MWC, imo. Though I think it's more likely that we pick up the Kansas schools, I do remember something about Self not wanting KU to play in the MWC. And he probably has more pull than the football coach there. I still say the MWC would be a better fit than the Big East for them though.

And picking up Tech would be a huge get for the MWC. Instant recruiting base in Texas, not a terribly far trip to play, and a good academic institution to boot. I'd be really happy with this.

Interesting times.

GO POKES!

I personally see the Big XII grabbing AFA, CSU, Boise, BYU, UNM, and Wyoming (AFA will insist on adding Wyoming).

But I doubt the Big XII leftovers will poach the MWC. It'll be the other way around.

Enlighten me, why would Air Force insist we come along? The front range thing?

AFA has to play Army and Navy in OOC play, right? Plus, who helps fill up Falcon Stadium on gameday? CSU and UW fans, some of the highest attended games at AFA are when UW & CSU are playing!!! AFA wants to keep a couple of OOC games open and I don't see them using a OOC game on Wyoming unless AFA goes Indy!

Ok, I see your point. I didn't know if there was something else there (eg: between the Commandant and our Prez). I appreciate the clarification Okie.

Well, apparently the Front Range Schools and New Mexico have said that they will work with and support each other. Not sure how far that would go, really.

Plus, Air Force will probably never go Indy. Unlike Army and Navy, there is not the high concentration of football schools out West that there is on the East coast. So really, their only 2 choices are to either stay in the MWC where there are 3 other schools going up and down I-25 (CSU, UW, and UNM) or the Big 12 with the Kansas schools sort of close by.

Looks like talks are heating up again, and one of the more respected radio guys from SEC country says we're probably going to see some action soon:

Head for the hills Okie, your armageddon is upon us!

Interesting...13 for one year after A & M joins then a 14th from the ACC. OU will probably follow a year after that.

As soon as A & M leaves, the conference will fall apart.

Hmmmm. Is Kansas and Kansas St better than Utah and BYU? Would the big12 dissolve and the MW automatically get a BCS bid?

Should A&MN leave along wuth the Kansas schools, the Big XII will goo belly up. My guess is that the MWC will get AQ status unless something wacko happens like a few MWC schools joining what's left of the Big 12.

According to this, we're about to go full tilt boogie with this ripple effect:

As I predicted weeks ago.....

Boys....The Mount Vesuvius of College realignment is about to blow!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for the historical reference but I've been watching the HBO series from 2005, "Rome," on DVDv from Netflix. No wonder Christianity became so popular roughly 100 years after Julius Caesar's death.

A&M will leave very soon for the SEC. The major clusterf!ck will occur in spring of 2012.

KU no. KSU could take on Utah or BYU anyday. Plus your talking about two schools with huge fan bases. Plus. you get a better tv deal, because you'll have wichita 500,000, Kansas City, bout a mil. and the rest of Kansas and parts of missou.

In regards to that fox article, the loser needs to be Iowa St. They need to go to the WAC. I don't want them anywhere near this conference.
I say KU, KSU, maybe TTU or Baylor for a Texas school and recruiting.

My two scenarios....

Scenario A.

A&M and Oklahoma: SEC;
Texas: Indy
TTU, KU, K-State, and Okie State: Mountain West
Missouri: Big Ten or C-USA
Iowa State: C-USA or MAC
Baylor: who gives a shit!

Scenario B.

A & M: SEC
OU, Texas, TTU, and Okie State: PAC-12
KU and K-State: Mountain West
Missouri: Big Ten or C-USA
Iowa State: C-USA or MAC
Baylor: who gives a shit!

Every time i saw "iowa" i just kind of assumed it was the hawkeyes. I didn't realize the cyclones were in the big 12. I always thought they were in the MAC or something.
