Northern Iowa

Edwards needs to learn how to sub the right guys in and play the right guys at the right times. So far this year I have no idea what he is doing. James and Adams barely playing doesn't make any sense.

Herndon is so frustrating. He plays so damn soft. I get it, he's skinny... but at least play with energy like Dalton!

Well happy we got the win. We will need James and Adams more though going to the basket. Relying on the 3 ball so much isn't going to be good long term. I thought Kelley actually played pretty well today when he was in there so I have to give him some props.

Good win though.

That makes you and Edwards in the same situation, it may appear (although, admittedly, he managed to win this game) But his player scheme rotation is indeed mysterious.

I disagree. James and Adams played poorly today, I have no problem with sitting them more.

That's fine to disagree. I just think they didn't get too play much to get anything going. James didn't even get in the game for the first 11 and a half minutes of the 2nd half and Adams didn't hardly play at all.

Honestly no one played great today. They just shot the ball from 3 well. Too many turnovers by everyone though.

Them not playing that much and us shooting 3's the whole game won't work if they want to win games over the long run.

Dang! /tough review! I thought we played great mostly. Played good d. Gone are the days when we can't get a board.

Jmac was great. Al played awesome. I've never seen Dalton play better. Good team win

I agree great win . I just don't like the way Edwards subs guys and not sure how he decides who gets to play for how long. Just seems weird. Guess it doesn't matter as long as we win. Just hope we can start getting to the basket more and take care of the ball better. :thumb:

I agree. He's got some curious substitution patterns. Or lack thereof.

He left James sitting too long. And left Dalton sitting way too long, too, once. Dalton must have been +30 tonight.

note: Kelley played decent tonight. Got to give credit to him

James was 1-5 shooting with 2 turnovers and Adams was 0-3 with 2 turnovers in the first half. They weren't playing well.

Personally, if I was coaching I'd play the guys who are playing the best, not just the guys with a certain name. Those two aren't established enough to get star treatment from the coaching staff. They need to earn that treatment.

I agree on the bolded part. Everyone on the team had a bunch of turnovers today. Need to clean that up.

That's what causes the perceived inconsistencies in the rotation. It's not going to be the same every game.

I do think most of our best lineups are with a Dalton/Herndon frontcourt. Fill in the perimeter with whoever is playing well.

I didn't get to see the game. This is a big win for this team against a quality opponent. Revenge game? I mean the way they took us out of the tourney...I hope we keep a non conference rivalry going. I was also hoping the team could string some wins together in non conference. Great news. How nice would it be if our basketball team arrives a year early like the football team just did?? So far I've been feeling Edward's squad.
