If you watched Crum last year, you'll know that Crum's greatest ability is the ability to get LIT UP LIKE A CHRISTMAS TREE! thats it

Yes, I definitely deserve to be shot in the foot, maybe even in the head because Crum was so much worse than all the other quarterbacks, right? I do recall him winning more games as the starter last year than any of the other quarterbacks on the roster, but of course, my suggestion that he ends up #2 after the SPRING is by all means proposterous. The fact that I didn't have him in the top three after fall camp was also something that you probably overlooked too, huh? You really crack me up. All I was doing was simply giving my opinion on how the quarterback situation will turn out next year. No, I'm not "close" to the team. All my opinions are based on are what I watched on the field last year and what I watched at some of the practices I went to. Frankly, I would rather be completely wrong about how the QB situation works out and watch the Pokes win a few more games next year than be correct and watch us get our asses handed to us every single weak. I'm not so sure about you. I will be one of Barry's biggest fans if he earns the starting job come August. I just didn't see a whole lot from him in the practices I watched.

I see it like this...

6 QB's. One RS frosh, one true frosh, one Juco xfer. Three of the 6 who have D1 experience. Two of those that can move semi-quickly...one that really has something to prove. Anything can happen, and I wouldn't be surprised if the least expected (to start) does start against Weber State.

If we are winning, do we all really give a shit what the number is on the back of the QB's jersey?

Lastly...if DC & His staff are not winning after 1 1/2 years of being here, will they get barbequed and crucified like Heath & His staff? There is no room for being hypocritical like bWHYu fans!

ACS may not appear to be to impressive but, How many yards did he rush for? How many TD's did he rush for? If you watch the video on him you will see how many recievers he progressing through on his reads. Something our QB's have lost touch with over the last 6 years. This kid is the real deal. Sween threw for what, 3,000 yards his senior year. He also played in division 8 football in Cali which is a lot lower than where ACS played. Listening to Arroyo, he said that ACS came out of the toughest division in California. After Spring Ball it will more than likely be Sween at #1 and Barry at #2. I don't think they need to go any farther than that. The only way that ACS will redshirt this year is if Benjamin is the guy to take the reigns. Then they might make Sween #2 and Barry #3.

I definitely agree that over the top speed is not something needed at the QB postion in a pass-oriented spread offense. Now if we were running the spread option (like West Virginia) then speed at the QB position would be a must. I do think the QB needs to be somewhat mobile and a pretty good athlete to be successful in the spread attack. Barry definitely seems to appear athletic and have good mobility. I think the big key to who starts will be which QB is able to read the defense pre-snap. That is a MUST for a spread QB. Whoever comes out on top will also have to show damn good accuracy. Many of the shorter throws in the spread offense really only have any effect if the QB has pinpoint accuracy, as they are largely based on running after the catch. Throwing behind a receiver just a bit can mean 10 less yards on some of the throws. That is why I don't see Barry really being in the final running come fall. He has a very strong arm, but it isn't always the most accurate and he didn't seem to always make the best reads when I watched him in practice. Who knows though, maybe he will be able to pick this offense up quickly and pick the defense apart. We will all know in time.
