Next game Washington and Gorski?

After seeing how everyone else looks, I'm salivating thinking that we have more shooters and another long wing sitting on the bench.

Bring on some guard depth and two more 3 point assassins.

Is there a such thing as too much depth?

Washington can have Bentz's minutes, but I'm not sure where Gorski fits in this year.

He's an athletic 6'5" guy. You need guys like him to cover the wings we'll face in this league. There's length in the MWC and someone has to guard that length. Gorski is that guy.

Gorski is the Crown's Three. He can bomb it from downtown. I'm guessing he fits right in the rotation.

Not sure if they will be back until New Mexico St. game. But it would be good to get them to play a lot of minutes on Wednesday if possible to get them ready for Saturdays game. I will be happy with being able to play everyone on the bench and not worry too much about anything dropping off too much from the starters. As long as they can come in and give 4 or 5 productive minutes here and there it will really help a lot.

Who are you going to give fewer minutes to if Gorski plays?

Washington couldn't possibly be in shape to play many minutes. Gorski probably, because only finger hurt.

I would play him at two guard or SF. It's early in the ooc play and everyone has a chance to compete. Don't count Gorski and Washington out yet.

They want to play too.

The next game is Stetson. If it's another night like tonight then I give them all minutes. We can afford to do that vs. some of our opponents.

Why are you trying to turn this into a less minutes for Mcmanamen fest? I just want to see the young players in our program get meaningful minutes on the court. That's all.

It's exciting to me to see Cowboys play that I haven't seen play before. It's one reason I love college more than pro sports.

Shyatt said Gorski would be the more likely of the two to play vs Stetson, but said they're being cautious and don't want to go backwards medically. Didn't sound too likely to me.

I guess I just don't want McM to get buried on the bench. I love it when in-state kids do well, but if Gorski can really play let him play!!

After the way he's played early on, including the dunk heard round wyoming, theres no way he loses playing time. Honestly, to me, he's been the surprise of the season. He's come out of nowhere. So has Sellers.

McManamen is a real threat to be a big time bench player for Wyo.
Sellers will likely put up points against lesser competition I just hope he can be good for 5 and 4 off the bench. If he can come in and play productive ball while DC or Larry is on the bench then we have a BIG chance to be great.

I think that we'll be pretty deep at guard when Gorski comes back. Rotation will likely be (in order of PT) Grabau, Adams, Hankerson, McManamen, Lieberman, Gorski, Washington

This extreme depth we have in the back court is so so awesome. The last time we were this deep we went into the NCAA tourney. I'd guess Washington and Gorski will probably be pushing for some playing time when healthy/fit. We need to not get wrapped up in who plays how long, even with those emotional WYO ties. I'm pretty damn positive that Shyatt will play the guys that deserve it and give us the best chance to win. I might be in the minority but I've always been more biased about us playing guys from WYO since I don't believe the state always produces D1 talent yearly. I sure LOVE it when I'm wrong about that though! McManamen so far has proven that he's good for a couple clutch 3's and some very active D off the bench. That kind of consistent play is HUGE at the college level.

I just hope shyatt stops believing in bentz. He has a hot girlfriend which I guess means he's confident, but his skill set is not division 1. I'm comfortable with grabau, Lieberman, and even Adams at times running the point. I left Washington out because he hasn't played yet and he didn't show much last year to make me a believer, but time will tell. And we have such great options at the 2/3 with proven starters and a solid bench. I'm excited to get these guys back, its a good problem to have!

Lol...Bentz has made it this far... he's going to keep playing the rest of the season.
He is fine, plus in a situation where Grabau and Adams are in foul trouble, in a close MWC game in Vegas, ABQ, or San Diego, I would rather Bentz come in and run the point rather than a freshman. Bentz at least has experience, he has been to all those places. A freshman could likely very overwhelmed in a big situation, just look at Washington last season as MWC play went on.

Kid scored 14 points in his first D1 game, then was airballing every shot he put up late in MWC play.

Bentz is very competent at running the offense when we need him to. He may not be a big scoring threat but the kid keeps the ball in our hands and does what is asked of him.

1. No he isn't - he is a turnover waiting to happen.

2. Very true, which is a huge issue - I would rather UW play 5 on 5 than 4 on 5.

3. See #1

Come on Aaron...I get the love for the walk-on kid, but he is...well...not good.

Lieberman is already better than Bentz. I'm more comfortable with him. Don't forget Washington, we've barely seen him. I think you'll see some guys not playing much when conference rolls around. It's nice to see them playing well against weaker teams

I don't think you'll be seeing Washington on the floor much this year. He just doesn't have the goods compared to the other young players now. He is primed to take Bentz's place next year. Just my observation. (but who knows - maybe he will put in the required effort)

I thought he was injured and that is why he isn't in shape? Not lack of effort?
