New OC Christian Taylor

We now have 3 offensive linemen playing in the Hula Bowl (Jack Walsh, Caden Barnett and Evan Svoboda), 1 going to the Senior Bowl (Gyllenborg) and at least 1 going to a P4 (Wes King) and a possible 2nd (Luke Sandy). How was it possible that our offense couldn't run the ball or do anything this past year if we apparently had that kind of talent on the line?!?! Truly amazing.

A lot of problems on O was not teaching or putting players in a situation that maximizes their ability.

I think that changes this year.

Hopefully you are right about the O line improving with better coaching but I am really skeptical.

I share your skepticism. Watching the OL closely betrayed poor fundamentals matched with a horrible scheme.

RB isn't a problem.

Huh? How do we know this? We have one guy returning with any significant experience and he is a true sophomore with a history of knee injuries and coming off a recent knee surgery. We lost 2 other RBs to the portal and 1 to graduation.

In our last game against Hawaii, we rushed for 54 yards on 28 carries (1.9 YPC).

My thoughts are a little different but the hope is the fix is easier than I think it will be.

Needs were:

QB - 1 added. Problem resolved?
RB - 3 gone. 1 returning from injury. Depth?
OL - Teaching the only problem?
WR - The most impressive of the unimpressive is gone.
TE - Might be the most solid.

I’m looking at maybe 1 more RB, 2 WR’s and a couple of OL.
