Is this the guy from Minot? Heard about someone comin' from D-II.

Yes, from Minot. Looking forward to him coming. Since Vorel left, I feel like I am in the dark.

The people that hand out awards for best beat writers, etc. named this guy #8 on their list of best beat writers. Vorel was #2 on this same list. I think we'll be okay w/ Ryan coming aboard.

This guy needs to get his shit going...last years spring football coverage was outstanding.
First day isn't until the 20th. Meanwhile, Gagliardi has been pumping out content most every day.

Gags is also caught up doing other things such as HS football.

Not a dig on him, but just pointing out he isn't able to focus purely on UW sports.

He isn't in town yet.

I know (and knew) that. Just that the down-time between when Vorel punted, and Holmgren steps in (20th) it will have been close to a month, and more than 2/3rd of spring football. And he is missing covering our fantastic golf programs.

Fixed it for you Beav.

I agree. Not really sure why the new guy isn't here already. He's missing an opportunity on getting a jump on knowing the team that he's writing about. Coming in late to sping ball is going to put him behind in getting to know the players and coaches. Although im kind of looking forward to hearing a fresh perspective on the team the way that Mike Vorel did. Vorel came in and hit the fricken ball out of the park. Ive heard this guy is good, and cant wait to see his work.

Here you go

He committed to Minot through tonight (two weeks notice), then the CST gave him 7 days to move, with first day in Casper next Monday.

Slight correction to my previous post, in his farewell column, he said his first day is Saturday the 18th.

That's what we do in the real world.. give notice then leave.

Who is this "we" you are referring to?

If I had a dime for every millennial piece of shit that left a position with one of my companies without notice, I would have an extra $500 or so in my pocket.

Depends on where you work. If you have any kind of "power" or clearance in your job these days, your job often ends the day you give your "two weeks" notice, as the corporation freaks out and sends a couple of security guards to your desk, telling you to pack up. Then you get escorted off the premises.

Glad I haven't had to experience that personally, but a few co-workers had that happen at their former jobs. I get that you'd do that when you fire somebody, but when a person leaves on their own accord because they got a (probably better-paying) job elsewhere?

Granpappy..is that you? You may walk, talk, and f*#% like you are 80...but you aren't.

"Millennials (also known as the Millennial Generation or Generation Y) are the demographic cohort following Generation X. There are no precise dates when the generation starts and ends. Researchers and commentators use birth years ranging from the early 1980s to the early 2000s."
