...will not be filling that last coaching spot. Nor will Gosar.

Shyatt will have to hire a man of color for that opening.

Too bad. Nate was a solid guy.

Peace.

Oh. Maybe Marcus Bailey?

It would be dumb for Bailey to be an assistant coach...great for him if he wants to be a HC eventually....but dumb, because he's gunning for Med School.

..and if the OP is accurate he wouldn't even be considered. Check the bold text above.

Nah......tan is color in the homogenous Fort Collins.

Trust me.

btw....Shyatt putting in work already.

A big recruit (literally and figuratively) is on campus as we speak.

Peace

Why does he HAVE to hire someone of color?

Kids don't want to come to Laramie and not have anyone they can't relate to on staff. It's one thing when you go play at a power conference school or in a place with a significant minority (read: black) population, but without someone on staff that makes potential recruits feel comfortable about a place they'd otherwise feel skeptical about (or you know, a friend on the team...) then they're just not going to make it work.

You might not like it, but it's not so much about being "PC" as much as it's about being able to compete in a recruiting game that's stacked against Wyoming in pretty much every way.

I have no comment about this one way or the other - it is strictly up to Shyatt to pick his assistants. He has been in the coaching business for about 35 years and one of those years was here at Wyoming and he did a pretty good job of recruiting that time. He isn't dumb - he's probably weighing all the pros & cons.
