Dateline: March 1986, The Wyoming Cowboys, with a sophomore dominated team, earn the #1 seed and the right to host the WAC Basketball Tournament in Laramie. The outrage from the rest of the conference was defining. The fear of return trips to Laramie the next two seasons was more than the conference could handle. Before the 1987 tournament, the site was changed a predetermined site so it would be less stressful on the host site, or some other crap excuse.

Fast forward 30 years: The Wyoming Cowboys, with a sophomore dominated team, earn the right to host the MWC Championship Game in Laramie. This time only SUDS is loud at this point but wait for the other West teams with aspirations to think about it a little bit. Not saying it will happen again but it wouldn’t surprise me if it gets moved to a neutral site like Qualcom or Sam Boyd (especially if it’s a little chilly on Saturday). Just saying I’m not counting on this game ever being played in Laramie again and we have our tickets.

Except neither QualCom nor SBS are guaranteed neutral sites. I say if this talk bubbles up, we hold another airport meeting...
