We've been sorely missing the athleticism of DC and Nance in the post. Moemeka has that kind of bounce and athleticism. He'll add shot blocking, Dunk Town pimp sauce, and rebounding to the Pokes. We desperately need another Nance or DC type of player. I expect Moemeka to carry on that tradition of Cowboy post players with pride and excellence.
I like the length we have this year. It's still too skinny, but we've got a rotation of long bodies now. We have 6 guys over 6'7" with Barnes, Naughton, Moemeka, Mueller, Dalton, and Herndon.
I expect Moemeka and Naugton to be the guys under the rim the majority of the time.
We do have some good bodies for that stretch 4 roll. Dalton and Herndon are veterans that have both showed promise. Hopefully, their bodies will develop enough to fulfill their potential.
I expect Moemeka, Naughton, Dalton, and Herndon to get a lot of minutes next year. We'll see if Barnes or Mueller can surprise some people.
No matter who makes the rotation, we have a lot of long bodies on the floor this year at the four and the five, and the potential to go really long on people by lining one of them up at small forward with Justin James at guard.
We have a lot of length this year and are starting to develop depth with our length. Even the guards are bigger with Marshall, Louis Adams, and Gorski in the rotation.
I like how our length fits the new pressure system that Edwards is going to explore. We have long arms to break up passes, and a lot of length to suffocate ball handlers. We have a depth in length to platoon the same type of players if you really want to push the tempo.
This is going to be new for us Poke fans. We haven't had this much length in a very long time.
I'm excited for the foundation Allen Edwards and staff have laid. The future looks bright for the Pokes.
