We've been sorely missing the athleticism of DC and Nance in the post. Moemeka has that kind of bounce and athleticism. He'll add shot blocking, Dunk Town pimp sauce, and rebounding to the Pokes. We desperately need another Nance or DC type of player. I expect Moemeka to carry on that tradition of Cowboy post players with pride and excellence.

I like the length we have this year. It's still too skinny, but we've got a rotation of long bodies now. We have 6 guys over 6'7" with Barnes, Naughton, Moemeka, Mueller, Dalton, and Herndon.

I expect Moemeka and Naugton to be the guys under the rim the majority of the time.

We do have some good bodies for that stretch 4 roll. Dalton and Herndon are veterans that have both showed promise. Hopefully, their bodies will develop enough to fulfill their potential.

I expect Moemeka, Naughton, Dalton, and Herndon to get a lot of minutes next year. We'll see if Barnes or Mueller can surprise some people.

No matter who makes the rotation, we have a lot of long bodies on the floor this year at the four and the five, and the potential to go really long on people by lining one of them up at small forward with Justin James at guard.

We have a lot of length this year and are starting to develop depth with our length. Even the guards are bigger with Marshall, Louis Adams, and Gorski in the rotation.

I like how our length fits the new pressure system that Edwards is going to explore. We have long arms to break up passes, and a lot of length to suffocate ball handlers. We have a depth in length to platoon the same type of players if you really want to push the tempo.

This is going to be new for us Poke fans. We haven't had this much length in a very long time.

I'm excited for the foundation Allen Edwards and staff have laid. The future looks bright for the Pokes.

Sounds like a lot of solid depth. We should be able to pressure on both offense and defense and won't lose anything when we sub.

Yeah, I'm pleased with how the roster is being constructed.

I don't think we'll be seeing as many Riley Grabaus and Jeremy Liebermans being recruited by Edwards and staff.

Or as many threes as in the past. It looks like Edwards is a bang-it-in-the-inside type of coach.

Edwards is quoted as saying he projects a 9 man rotation. Who do you guys see as being part of that group?
McManamen
Herndon
Lieberman
James
Naughton
Barnes
Dalton
Adams?
Aka Gorski?
Marshall?
Moemeka?
Mueller?

Herndon
Moemeka
Naughton

I know that's ten, but I'm guessing that group will be the guys that give us the most minutes. Barnes might surprise. We'll see how hard he worked this summer. Mueller might work his way into the line-up, but it will be a challenge breaking into a line-up with guys that have quite a bit of time in the program and on the court. He's talented, but will have to work his butt off to bust into that rotation as a true freshman.

Locks to start: Lieberman, McManamen
Likely starter: Herndon, Naughton
Competition to start: Dalton, James, Aka Gorski
Dark horse to start: Adams, Marshall

I see those 9 being regular rotation guys assuming Adams figures out the system quickly. Barnes simply isn't a good basketball player and should only play when Naughton gets into foul trouble and the opposing team has a 6'10" 250+ pound monster that no one else can guard. Moemeka has a bright future, but he's raw and has a few guys with more skill ahead of him. I could see him being the 9th guy over Marshall or Adams since they're still kind of unknown commodities.

Pretty good list there. It's gonna be hard for someone to beat Herndon out of that starting 5. Adams could edge Liebs by mid season or end maybe? We need battles like that if we're gonna be making noise as sum are suggesting. I'm a little hesitant to those thoughts yet. Just hoping things like that happen so this list is great!

Clearly Edwards is stating a couple things.
1.You gotta play your way into our rotation.- This is a great thing. We need competition everywhere, everyday on this team. Young guys with a lot to prove at this level. Get everyone better together. Earn your time.
2. We're gonna be running with a deeper team.- Does this finally mean more up tempo in the AA??? That's what a lot of us want to see. Use home court. D em up hard as a unit. Everyone run the court. Gas teams. I love college teams that run 9 deep(if everyone at least plays a role). If you get 9 deep with athletes, a few stars...... shit anything can happen. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

I was extremely critical of Lieberman for most of last season. By the end of the season, I think the light flicked on and he started playing like a good division one point guard. I expect him to continue to progress and be a really solid starter. The second guard spot will be up for grabs and I wouldn't be surprised to see multiple guys start there this season. It'll be interesting to see if Edwards plays a lot of small lineups which will affect everyone's minutes.

I think Dalton is a better basketball player than Herndon. He's the better athlete, more skilled, tougher, and has better instincts. With that said, he's simply too skinny to be a starter at this level and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

If we see the roles of Dalton, Lieberman and Gorski wane that will mean younger players/newcomers will have passed them. I'm hoping for this.

I believe James will be in the starting line-up one position or another. After that, McManamen and then I don't know what combination Edwards will use as starters. Could depend on match-ups with the team they are playing that day/night.

Yeah, I think James and McManamen is a nice starting wing duo.

After watching tonight i would say Adams should start with James, Jmac and then have a 3 big man rotation with Herndon, Moemeka and Naughton. Have Gorski, Lieberman, Marshall coming off the bench for guards and wings. I don't know how you don't start JMac, James and Louis Adams after watching tonight but I could be wrong.
