Long year...

In the modern space, I think we need more of a CEO-type for athletic director. It’s a big money business. Someone who understands commercialism and establishing ties with other businesses would be beneficial. Hiring search firms and seriously considering their recommendations is a must. More than anything, I would love to see a professional who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and work hard to ensure not just success for today but for the future as well.
It got nothing to do with modern. The position has always required a CEO-type to properly run an athletic department. It is a business. It isn't fundraising for a nonprofit which I would equate to Burman's view of the position. An AD needs to have some HR abilities, marketing skills, and be a shrewd businessman in addition to being able to grovel to donors to fund construction projects/buyout coaches, etc. The current landscape has only accentuated the need to be a businessman with out of the box thinking. Some foresight and planning are necessities. Burman completely lacks any of the skills, other than fundraising, an AD needed 20 years ago and especially today. And that is not even mentioning the ability to evalate talent and make the right hiring decisions.

Im a lobo. And I have always liked Wyoming. I never been to Wyoming. I'm planning on it. I enjoy meeting the cowboy fans when they come for the game in Albuquerque. Man it does suck. One game shouldn't decide the rest of the season. I know well. Being a lobo. We're probably going to lose coach eck after this season.

Eck may leave, you are right, for the $$$$ being tossed around. He was a great hire after that last dick head. Hopefully he leaves a good legacy to build on though. Yet, nothing worse than to be a Wyoming, where a mediocre coach was replaced with a very poor coach. Again. And Again. And Again.

I agree that the offensive scheme and quarterback play were improved but the team lacks the other players needed. What was more distressing was the defense, is worse than last year.

Best defensive team Sawful has had in his 7 years at Wyoming. Really? What a joke.

It’s no joke. The name is Bohl. Start worshipping the ground this DC walks on. He will be the next up for the HC position should Sawful get hit by the door and Burman has any control over the hiring. He can’t be looked upon as anything other than hampered by the injury to Robinson.

I’m just so glad basketball doesn’t have any Sh…. name anymore.
