List of Recruits who may have liked what they saw in ABQ

Most teams only keep one kicker on scholly at a time, and we have one, soon to be two.. hard to fathom us going out and getting another kicker.

Huh?? McCoy is our punter. If you are referring to Jake Scott, he was a senior this year.

Bottom line is when Watts was given a scholly the Pokes discontinued pursuit of other kickers. They have other more pressing needs they would like to fill and other areas where they want to create depth.

I think that offer to a kicker was old, like before the season even started, and I don't think Scout has done a very good job updating its list. After giving Watts a full ride why on earth would Cowboys tie up another scholly on a kicker? Makes no sense.

Watts is clutch at field goals there's no doubt about that.

Unless we like watching teams start drives on their 40, we need a guy with a bigger leg. A key to our team is our ability to control field position and if Jake Scott was taking kick-offs that means Jake Scott has a better deep leg than Watts. We need someone to get us touchbacks and bring the 55 yard field goal into play.

We need a kicker. Watts is the man at field goals from 45 in, but we need a guy that will get you touchbacks and lengthen our ability to get three points.

What it means is with Watts' background they want to work with him on kickoffs this spring. He has a much stronger leg than Scott, but hell, he wasn't even a kicker until his senior year in high school and then he only had two field goal attempts.
