Christensen absolutely had to deal with his top player being out, causing us to not go to a bowl game.
2012, if Brett doesn't get hurt against Toledo we likely win that game, we for sure beat AFA, and Cal Poly, and if Brett doesn't get ejected or whatever happened in Reno we win that game, all we needed was a first down.
That makes our 4-8 season, 8-4, or at VERY worst, 6-6, resulting in another bowl game.
Now, if we go to a bowl game in 2012, you think the attitude of the team is different going into 2013, domino effect resulting in one more win, meaning bowl eligibility.
I got sick of how DC pissed down his leg and had awful defenses, but to me, if Brett doesn't get hurt against Toledo, we go to bowl games the last 2 years.
Meaning instead of 2 bowl games in 5 seasons, we hit 4 in 5, DC isn't fired, and Brett is still our QB.
Would 6-6 to 8-4 be our peak with DC? Maybe, but at least that is mediocre.
We don't settle for mediocrity. We strive for it.
Mediocre is better than what we have been. I would be okay with 4 bowls in 5 seasons compared to 3 in the last decade.
