I'm just hoping this game isn't like last year's USU-BYU game. One where USU is ready to finally win a game soundly.Last year, USU had lost some games leading up to their home game vs Oklahoma, SDSU and Fresno State. They weren't heart-breaking losses like they have had this year, but they came into the BYU game 1-3.They were ready and punched BYU in the teeth. The game was never close. I fear they finally put 4 quarters of football together.
I actually graduated from USU about 5 years ago. I saw their football games in the dog years. Gary A has turned that place around and there is a lot of confidence and support, although they are losing games. Let's just hope Saturday is NOT one of those games they happen to get it together.
Keeton is a decent passer. Not great. We win if they are forced to pass. If USU runs for 250+ yards, we lose. They will control the clock and wear down our small D line. They have a trio of RBs all capable of running for 100 yards.
If we can get a 2 score lead in the 4th, we win. If it is close, I have a hunch that USU won't piss a fourth game away like they have thus far.
With that said, I can't see this being a defensive battle. We actually moved the ball pretty well vs Nebraska and other opponents this year. USU has put up a lot of yards as well.
Auburn 448
WEBER STATE 635
COLORADO STATE 365
BYU 406
I agree with th post above saying we will need to outscore them to win. Because I don't think we are stopping them. The QBs they have struggled with are QBs like Brett Smith (Riley Nelson). Pete Thomas and St Heaps didnt do much against them.
I still say Wyo pulls this game out. Score will be in mid 30s.
