Here's an FYI for everyone... I talked to Luke Ruff recently at coe studying for finals and we talked about the hit on Brett Smith by the Toledo safety. The safety came up to Luke and apologized and said he didn't mean to hit Smith late and Ruff said that as a safety he would have done the same exact thing. And so would anybody on the D.
So if you are still bitching about the Toledo guy hitting Brett Smith maybe football isn't your sport. Get the hell over it. It happened. We can't change anything about it. If the toledo safety is a dirty player then so is everyone else that plays D in football. Sure maybe offensive players would say the toledo guy is dirty but there is no d player that would say that.

Anyone that hopes the toledo safety gets hurt because of that is a tool in my eyes and is just blaming the entire season on a "dirty" hit that ended up not being so dirty afterall.

It wasn't just that hit. It was the countless other late hits on Brett and our receivers and backs - out of bounds and after the whistle. That hit was the culmination. Had the refs gotten things under control earlier, they would not have been as aggressive at the boundary. You can disagree, but clearly, it is an issue with Robinson getting booted in the Tater Bowl. Clearly it is coached. I found it revealing that even the coach had to tell his players to knock off the trash talking, as it was getting over the top - or so said the announcers. Too bad the Coach taught it to them in the first place. It's a little hard to unring the bell, eh Campbell?

This! No one gets angry when a football play happens and someone gets hurt. It's the fact they were head hunting all game and never got called on the borderline calls. If you don't get called, you take it a little further. I think the player being ejected this game tells you the kind of player he is. He has a lot of passion but also dirty.

I would rather our defense get a few late hit calls. I'll take aggression and some questionable hits over what I saw from our defense this year. This whole "bounty" issue with the Saints is another example of BS. I'll be honest... I have many times hit another player hoping to knock them out of the game. I agree with you that hard hits are part of the game and people do get hurt.
Where I disagree with you is grabbing the face mask and jerking is not a hard hit. And if you review films, as the conference offices did, you could confirm five personal fouls against Robinson that conference officials say should have been called but the MAC officiating crew did not call.
When you intentionally grab the face mask and jerk the head that is not playing hard. That is a cheap shot.

I didn't think the actual hit was as bad as many were making it to be after seeing the replay. Then again, I wasn't the one getting smashed every other down. You should just STFU. Who cares what Luke Ruff said. Toledo was dishing out cheapshots the entire game. Robinson is a thug who should have been thrown out in the first half of the game in Laramie. Absolutely no excuse for the way that game was played or officiated. Atrocious that any Wyo fan is not upset with the cheapshots that Brett took during that game.
