Craig Bohl will be named WYOMING'S new head coach tomorrow afternoon.

Tom Burman has taken a lot of hits here the past few years -- give him major credit for this hire.

This is a game changing hire in every respect by Burman.

What a great day to be a WYOMING COWBOY!

I won't call it a terrible hire but I am going to wait until he produces before I sing his praises. He literally has done nothing in FBS. I appreciate his record as a HC but Glenn was a stud too. Bohl has to produce and produce early or I think his leash will be short. The locals are restless and won't tolerate another prolonged series of sucking

This is just more of the same. I don't see how this warrants major credit. He went out and hired another Joe Glenn. I wish Coach Bohl the best of luck at Wyoming, but I'm done investing until I see results. Go 'Pokes.

Tedford was my choice by far. I wish Mr. Bohl all the luck in the world, but I'm going to sit on my wallet until he shows results. I hope we aren't back here in 4 or 5 years saying the same things about Bohl that we said about Glenn.

I am a Jeff Tedford fan as he has already been very successful at the highest levels. Craig Bohl, not to take anything away from him and his record, has not accomplished anything at this level. Not saying that he can't do it, but it is much more of question with him. I am going to wait and see what happens and how he recruits before I get too excited. See Tedford already has been recruiting at a much higher level than Wyoming, whereas Bohl hasn't and so he is going to have to up his recruiting IMMEDIATELY.....can he do it? Big question....all of those that are so sure, how can you be since the guy has never had to recruit at this level as a HC? Much more of crapshoot with Bohl in relation to Tedford.

Yep I think we are screwed. I had hope when tedford was potentially in play. I think bermans ultimate goal is to drop is to fcs...

Yeah a bunch of the glass is half empty negative comments already. This is a tough gig for anybody to come here but you dudes wouldn't be happy with Nick Saban lol.

I agree........Great hire! Go Pokes :willybs:

Actually, if that's your remark, you're completely misunderstanding or willfully misconstruing what's going on with those of us who are not happy with the hire. Nick Saban would have made us happy.

I identified him months ago as PERFECT for Wyoming.

Tom Burman agreed with me.

I got my man!

OOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHH what a night to be a POKE!

Not true, most said they'd be happy with Tedford. Saban would be a Godsend.
All of us are hoping this just isn't another Glenn repeat. Remember, Glenn was just as good at the FCS level. I'm already expecting next season to be a struggle regardless of who we hired.

I actually think next year we will be really good. Somewhere around the 9-4 to 11-2 mark. I think there are enough talented players here that a new coach will reinvigorate and energize them and the following year is when our drop off comes. Once we start seeing a majority of Bohl's recruits is when we will struggle. It'll be interesting.

This Joe Glenn part 2 talk is utter rubbish.

We just got a great head coach.

Go grab a bottle of Freedom's Edge brew (like I did) and toast this great night to be a WYOMING COWBOY.

Period.

+1
Bohl is the perfect coach to get things done here. I'm pretty shocked we landed him, to be honest. Must be one hell of a contract.

No, it's not. It's great you feel excited. There are those of us who just see this as more of the same. Glenn was a better hire at the time on paper than Bohl, he had 3 titles, 1 in D-2.

We got it....you are the president of the Craig Bohl fan club and you probably have your bedroom plastered with his posters all over it. The similarities while you might not like are many with Joe Glenn. Bohl has NOT had to recruit at the FBS level as a HC ever, period! He was at Nebraska, but Nebraska is an easier place to recruit to than Wyoming. He has had to recruit to N.D. St. which is a place similar to Wyoming, but he has been recruiting lesser talent than what Wyoming needs to be successful with. They even admitted it in the article about him that he has taken a bunch of "cast-offs" (their words not mine) from Minnesota and North Dakota and won with them, but against much inferior competition than what he will find on a regular basis at Wyoming. I don't see how he is going to be successful against the likes of Fresno St. on a regular basis with cast-offs from Minnesota and North Dakota. He is going to have to up his recruiting immediately and Joe Glenn had to do it also and wasn't very successful, and BOTH Glenn and Bohl were highly successful at the FCS level....many similarities that you don't like to look at!

And those "cast offs" would still kick the shit our of our "FBS caliber players" for the past 2 years, at least
