This Joe Glenn part 2 talk is utter rubbish.

We just got a great head coach.

Go grab a bottle of Freedom's Edge brew (like I did) and toast this great night to be a WYOMING COWBOY.

Period.
No, it's not. It's great you feel excited. There are those of us who just see this as more of the same. Glenn was a better hire at the time on paper than Bohl, he had 3 titles, 1 in D-2.

Disagree because of two main points:

1. Bohl has a lot of FBS experience

2. Bohl had to transition NDSU from D2 to FCS, Glenn inherited a program that was at the top of the FCS heap already.

Granted, NDSU was a very successful D2 program and belonged at the FCS level, but that is still a significant transition. The program he took over had a history of winning at D2, but was not capable of going 7-4 or whatever it is against FBS opponents in his time. He built that.

Tedford was my choice as well, but Bohl is a hire that will raise eyebrows (in a good way) around the country.

Great points, man. I just think we needed a better hire right now because of the big hole we're in. Best of luck to Coach Bohl. Go 'Pokes!

I hear ya. I was on the Tedford bandwagon myself. I actually am pleased though because I think Bohl is a quality coach and I was worried that we might end up with a really poor hire because of the hole we are in.

We needed a better hire you say......Well who in the hell did we have a shot at that was a better hire?
Give it up already negative crowd!!!!

Give in already! Good enough crowd!!!

See how easy to keep dialog from happening is?

If Bohl cant get it done nobody can. He has my support. He is now our HC, what is is and what aint aint.

Well Brew answer this: who could Burman have hired instead that he had a legit shot at and missed that would have been better?

I won't call it a terrible hire but I am going to wait until he produces before I sing his praises. He literally has done nothing in FBS. I appreciate his record as a HC but Glenn was a stud too. Bohl has to produce and produce early or I think his leash will be short. The locals are restless and won't tolerate another prolonged series of sucking

Really?

Here's a couple of paragraphs from Vorel's story on Bohl:

"He coached 18 seasons at the Division I level prior to his time at North Dakota State. In that span, Bohl coached linebackers at Tulsa and Wisconsin, was the defensive coordinator at Rice, the linebackers coach and defensive coordinator at Duke, and the linebackers coach and defensive coordinator at Nebraska.

Bohl coached at his alma mater, Nebraska, from 1995 to 2002, serving as defensive coordinator in the final three seasons of that tenure. During his time there, the Cornhuskers compiled an 85-18 record and won the national championship in 1995 and 1997.

I think he's got PLENTY of FBS experience.

First of all I would like to congratulate you on this hire. (pending it's true of course)

After being a college football fan with no affiliation in the past 15 yrs or so, the drama that was NDSU, could potentially now be at Wyoming. In a nutshell, top of your class football (MWC), success and buzz that engulfs the community of Laramie, the state of Wyoming, and potentially the nation. Ahhh yes, this is all a possibility, will it happen, no guarantees.

This is why I think it might. Bohl has been beating teams with supposed better talent for years now. +1 for coaching, +1 for recruiting kids he can win with, and getting them to Fargo, ND. Now maybe Laramie, Wyoming.

7-3 against the FBS

I think the comparison being made to Joe Glenn is pretty silly, his only accomplishment was taking an already successful Montana program, winning a couple seasons and jumping ship. If you want to use UNC as something credible, don't bother.

I view the situation in Laramie the same as I did when NDSU moved up to the FCS level, alot of potential, but can they win there?

Now you have a proven general at the helm, it'll be fun to watch, that is for sure.

Craig Bohl will be named WYOMING'S new head coach tomorrow afternoon.

Tom Burman has taken a lot of hits here the past few years -- give him major credit for this hire.

This is a game changing hire in every respect by Burman.

What a great day to be a WYOMING COWBOY!
This is just more of the same. I don't see how this warrants major credit. He went out and hired another Joe Glenn. I wish Coach Bohl the best of luck at Wyoming, but I'm done investing until I see results. Go 'Pokes.
Same here. Tedford was the only way id keep my season tickets. Joe glenn part deux....

Tedford was my choice by far. I wish Mr. Bohl all the luck in the world, but I'm going to sit on my wallet until he shows results. I hope we aren't back here in 4 or 5 years saying the same things about Bohl that we said about Glenn.
Yep I think we are screwed. I had hope when tedford was potentially in play. I think bermans ultimate goal is to drop is to fcs...

All the white hairs and blue hairs financing the athletic department shit show and Burman will be screaming in 2 years with this hire. FCS, here we come!

Lol. And if he wins you will run screaming and waving your arms to get the bandwagon to slow down so you can climb on.

If he is here, and winning/competing for conference championships in year 3 and 4, then I will say I was wrong.

Of course you will!

It's called having it both ways!

So, if/when he fails, are you gonna be on here saying, wow, I was wrong, this was a bad hire? Its called having it both ways.
