Student section will be full, freshman will be moving in before the game starts. Most students will be in Laramie the student section will be full.

Lol... YankPoke I think at this point he is probably just trolling. I mean, it has been answered already and he continues to post the same question.

Hahahaha I wasn't trolling. It was a real question. I got an answer about players tickets and then the student part. I was just curious what you thought if students would be there since school isn't starting. But whatever you think Beaver

Friday is move in day at the Dorms. They will be there

SO this does not include the student section which is what 5,000 seats? It does not include the 3K that were sent to Montana to sell in section A and AA

The total crowd will be interesting to see

Student section holds 7600 I believe...could be off a hundred or so.

So, with the dwindled total capacity of the War being 29181 (pathetic if you ask me), that still means they have sold roughly 9,000 tickets (outside season ticket holders & visitors) for this game. Against a FCS opponent. That is impressive, honestly. Of course, they knew they had to push it / market it hard, with classes not starting until the 2nd, labor day weekend, and an opponent most could give a shit about.

Even more pathetic is that our total cap is 29,086.

Agreed 100%. But less is more (tic). Yet less is easier, less takes "less" effort and work, and less hides flaws.

so we can sell it out once every 2-4 years? I think the Wildcatter Suites have probably made money where as empty seats are just empty seats.

The problem with selling it out, or selling tickets at all IMO, has little to do with the size of the facility, and more to do with the product on the field and opponent. And our product has been shitty since the late 90's (15+ years). That is no reason to downsize, unless you "think" you can and will never compete at a level that will sell more tickets than seats.

And of course the Wildcatter has made more money for athletics than just having a seat for sale. But when the team is perennial bed-shitters, you have to do something to boost income. Moon built the house for free, and the AD just sits back and collects the mortgage payment.

2873 left... still curious if this factors any amount of students or what... I am curious what the student turnout will be since school won't be in session yet

Alright alright you weren't trolling, but maybe just didn't see the post, but the question has been asked multiple times already and YankPoke and I have both answered.

But, I am thinking there might be even more "students" than normal.
Simply because move-in day is Friday, I think there will be several parents in town still and deciding to go to the game as well.

I hadn't seen anyone answer what the thoughts were on the student section, I just wanted to see what everyone was thinking. I too think there will be a big student turnout as well as the players' parents etc. That bottom section will be pretty full.

10 days! I can not wait

If there aren't any more general public tickets remaining (down to 2502), how would the parents go to the game?

Student can also buy guest passes in the student section. I always did that for my parents and I still have friends buy them for me. Best experience, no question.

We didn't downsize. We added wildcatter which removed some capacity. I don't know why you guys have such a boner for the reduction in capacity being such an issue with you.

Student guest pass.

If we ever get to a level where we can consistently sell out games, there is room to expand. Until then, it is totally understandable why the university would add suites, especially in a town that is less than favorable for weather in the back half of the season.

29 Thousand!!!!

We are the only program to "reduce" to under 30,000! Most all schools that are under 30k are looking to grow their cap, we choose to reduce. Yay for Wildcatter! About 1,500 seats that none of us will ever be able to afford, but the 4,000 seats it took out, we could've.

Also, if you want a stadium the size of any MAC school or most Sun Belt School, then more power to ya. Like I said before, Penn St has only avgd 95,000 the last three years. Is it time for them to reduce the size of their stadium about 15,000 seats, so they can once again be around a sellout standard? Probably not. How about Florida St.? 10 wins and 14 wins and a Nat Champ, yet their stadium of almost 90,000, is almos 10,000 seats empty, should they reduce?
If you said no to the schools below, then we shouldn't either.

I didn't know this, and haven't heard about this at other schools.
