Jackson State @ Wyo

Grabau with NO assists? I thought he was the one supposed to be the "feeder" to the open man. Or did they switch it up so that he was the target shooter?
Grabau and Adams primarily took turns feeding......Jackson State. 10 turnovers between our experienced starting guards at home against a SWAC team. Not a good effort.

Since I am in a bad mood, Bentz shouldn't see the floor if the game is still being decided. Two awful turnovers in limited minutes. I don't know his exact responsibilities but getting fancy with the dribble to try to create late in the shot clock probably isn't one of them. I shouldn't criticize the walk-on, but if Shyatt is going to play him...

I thought Sobey and Hankerson did some good work tonight though.

They'll be fine. They played like crap, but missing that many free throws will not be a normal thing. And the turnovers...that is easily fixable.

They went out there thinking they could just show up and beat them. And they did. But they can't be playing with that lazy effort anymore.

The game against South Dakota is the last tune up before the hardest game of the season.

Agree about Bentz - don't know why he is seeing PT, while Trey gets 2 minutes (of nothingness) in the first half.

44 free throws - and 31 / 44 (not including the front end of 1-1's being missed). Wasn't pretty.

Bad games happen, glad it was against Jackson State - which the team could (and did) overcome.

Just a case of being flat early in the season. They played some damn good ball against Arkansas State, but not so much last night. It happens.

On a side note, Ark State was within 10 late in the 2nd half at CU last night before the Buffs finished them off.

There wasn't an energy to the team, they looked tired, and they just looked like going thru the motions. 2 things I noticed, we really need a go to guy, Larry looks like he wants to, but then gets passive at times, Hankerson looks uncomfortable in this offense as he looks like he totally wants to go street, but I like what he offers, Riley and Josh are awesome at the point(s) and both can shoot. Last night they need to step up the Free Throws, lack of concentration i guess.
And that press is going to kill us during bigger games, unless they break it quicker.
Thru 4 games I'm ok with what's going on but always room for improvement!!! Move on the the next one!!!!

I think Adams is the go to guy this season.
I think he will kind of take that role upon himself. I want Nance to be it, but Adams is just looking REALLY good this season.

Hankerson seems to be getting a little bit more comfortable each game. He seems to be able to get into the lane and create things and he has great passing skills. I think the more he plays each game the better he will be.

Actually I think the same thing can be said for everyone on the team. They have all shown flashes of doing something great and they just need to put it all together by the time conference comes around.

I think the biggest jump as darbas getting comfortable between Saturday and last night was Granberry

Lazy and uninterested? The fuck game did you watch? They changed the way they were playing and used the press to their advantage. JSU was a team that didn't want to have a bad road trip. And several of those kids were really good shooters. This is the kind of thing our boys need early in the season to get ready for better squads

Especially teams like BSU. Our strength lies in our defense, BSU's lies in their offense. They have a lot of potent weapons.

I don't feel like we are solely relying on defense this season the way we were last season. Even without LW, this season we have a more rounded offense with more ways to get to the basket.

Not saying we don't, just saying our best strengths are on defense, that's all.
