Why is this even an issue? I don't care who shot the video or posted the video. A coach berating another coach post-game would have caught the attention of anyone with a camera at any school at any stadium in this day and age. Wyoming is no exception. Why are we trying to throw the guy under the bus?

The only problem I have is the ordeal was a setup. They were taunting him and got the exact reaction they wanted. I do not agree with what he did regardless.
Of course he did it to make UW look stupid. If the shoe was on the other foot and Calhoun was the one that tried to turn a college football game into a WWF event, and you had the video, are you saying you wouldn't have put it up? I think you'd be in the minority here.TheCup said:

The vast majority of the fans on here seem to not agree with DC's remarks and actions. However, just cause DC "may" have been in the wrong, that doesn't make the actions by AFA right!!!! He said what he felt, and I do respct that part of it.
Why can't people see this. This was a bush league move. they knew the University would get mud all over their faces because of it. Why else would the video get taken down? Which begs the question...whatwas the motivation on why to put it up? It was coming back on them. Video didn't capture Calhoun's face. Video didn't capture Calhoun chasing down the UW players and forcing them to try and shake hands. Video didn't get what he may have said to our players.
I, for one, do NOT agree with DC's comments. Silly and over the top. With that being said, I try and put myself in his situation. Smiling Howdy Doody comes and grins in my face like the dip#hit he was, I would have had to restrain pretty bad.

The way I see it, there is a multitude of classless things with this situation:
1) Faking the injury
2) DC's tirade
3) the posting of the video
4) the posting of the videographer's PERSONAL information (that's just flat out dangerous)
Everyone involved has acted like a bunch of children. This is a GAME, remember.

Christensen should have never melted down to begin with. No question about it and no one is saying otherwise. But it is equally true that the posting of that video essentially cost Christensen $50,000, did significant harm to the reputation of the Wyoming football program and will negatively impact our recruiting going forward.
So, please, save me the wailing about it being "dangerous." People who care about Wyoming athletics should know how, why and by whom that video was posted online under a dummy youtube account.
Playing a role and being a deciding factor are very different things. Fact is, there were several of us who voiced our concerns to the AD's office before the video surfaced. I'm not sure Burman said anything specifically about the attention garnered by the video, but he did say he was responding in part to boosters and donors, as well he should in this situation. He'd already seen the video, he'd gotten input from fans, all before said fans saw the video. I think it's highly possible he'd already made up his mind. The video surfaced the day before the team left for Fresno, so I'd say he quite prudently sat on it until the following Monday. Calm, deliberative, and measured- everything I expect from an executive decision-maker.TheCup said:
By the time the decision was made, following consultation and input, the equipment truck was likely on the road to Fresno, the practices and prep were past the point of no return, and it was near the eve of the game in Fresno. Suspending Christensen at that point would've been far less prudent, and potentially impacted more than one game, than waiting until the time was right to impact a single game.Lost Poke said:
