Isaiah Neyor

Midwest Cowboy

Well-known member
My own pet peeve here. Neyor is on the UW squad for 3 years and gets some recognition. Enters portal and commits to Tennessee. Later visits Ole Miss. Ends up at Texas. Does nothing at Texas (1 catch). Tears ACL. Enters portal and ends up at Nebraska. Does okay for a year. Enters portal. Commits to Louisville Cardinals. Decommits and declares for the draft.

Gets a shot with 49'ers where he is introduced as a Texas wide receiver. Cut. Ends up with Green Bay where is is reportedly doing well and is frequently written about as Nebraska wide receiver. The only time he had any meaningful success was with Wyoming. I'd love for UW to get some props. It would be nice for Neyor to recognize UW. Never heard anyone make that connection.

Once they get to the NFL, it seems the players themselves dictate a lot about what schools they are connected to. Especially with the video introductions a lot of broadcasts use now, the players can basically say anything they want. There was a trend a while back where some would say the high school or elementary school they went to instead of the college they attended.

2 years at UW

He reportedly got close to $1 Million to go to Texas. Texas and Tennessee were in a battle for him. Zero chance a player being offered life changing money is going to stay at Wyoming just because. He made the right move but the ACL injury and the extremely deep Texas WR room derailed his college career.

I hope he does well. Was fun to watch him for the 2 years we had him.

He was just among the first of many players who left for greener pastures (pun intended). I hate it but we better get used to the idea that any underclassman who shows great talent or promise is going to transfer for more money.
