Pete Thomas was supposed to be ranked really high coming out of high school.
Not that that means anything.

Would be kind of cool to get an ex sheep lead us to a win in the border war though.

And he has actual playing time and knows what D1 football is about.
None of the others on our team do.

He'd be a great guy to have in case no one steps up. He has a lot of experience, is a pro style Qb and has an axe to grind with the sheep. I like it!

True, but with the QB situation he's got this year a 5th year transfer may be worth looking at.

You're not wrong, but with as bad as our defense has been over the past 5 years we're still going to need to put up points. No way Bohl turns our defense around in 1 season. We'll be better, but you need a top 50 defense in this conference if you're going to win by scoring less than 30 points per game. I don't see that happening this year, so we badly need a QB who can sling the rock and put up points.

IMO, a defense can be overhauled in one year. Players just need to know there assignments and get some decent coaching.

I agree. We had talented players. A lot of them. They have never had a coach up to this point in their careers

It can, doesn't mean it will. This is an issue that's existed at Wyoming 14/15 seasons. It will not be easily fixed.

I'm not saying Pete Thomas is the answer. I'm just saying that an experienced starter at the FBS level is worth a look. It's hard to judge a QB while he was being coached by Steve Fairchild.

I agree.....he's had a couple more years to mature and there is a reason Fairchild isn't still in FC.

Well I'm hoping for improvement in that area as well. But 3yrds and a cloud of dust won't work for a variety of reasons. Need a good qb. It isn't MVC.

All for a punch you in the mouth offense----and a punch you in the throat defense but without a good qb.....hard to do anything. *And we currently have the personnel geared toward a spread offense, hand in the dirt I-formation will get us a 3 and out as quick as bubble screen bubble screen run up the middle did.
