Agree - hence my statement about how the DB's weren't tested against Nebraska.
Looking at the schedule, teams that like to pass more than run include everyone except New Mexico and Howdy Doody. Will be interesting to see what Chris Tormey (safeties) and Renaldo Hill (cornerbacks) come up with.

Hawaii just has a horrible QB. Nuff said there. UNLV seems to have a decent QB, but hard to say, considering the opponent was Minnesota. UNR seems to have taken a step back offense wise since Ault retired, but considering how good UCLA was last year, its hard to guage that. Fresno, yeah, Carr's a damn good pocket passer. And Keeton is to USU what Smith is to us. Dingwell got a bunch of yards, but also a bunch of ints. Southwick, well, I was never really impressed with him as a QB and knew he was overrated coming into this season. And it showed against Washington. Who showed last year that they can win and lose against anybody. They beat Stanford, but lost to WSU.

Minus Finley, safety blitzes are going to be risky. We really need to be kind of shifty and the d-line needs to own the LOS. I really hope Puletasi is 100% as the buck position will be crucial to both containment and pressure if we need to keep the safeties in the backfield. Both UNT and Idaho were penalized for over 74 yards and Idaho had 3 fumbles lost vs 2 turnovers by UNT. Long and short of it- UNT was no defensive juggernaut from the looks of things. Idaho kept shooting themselves in the foot and while he made some good plays early, UNT got into Chalich's head. His productivity fell right off the chart in the 2nd half. He's a true freshman, as is their number one tailback. A Wyoming defensive presence in their offensive backfield and at the line will rattle them very quickly, but we need to shut down the 6-10 yard passes right away to steal their wind.
