im excited for this one. I always cheer harder for mwc teams when they play the pac. I haven't had the opportunity to watch chuckie, so this should be a good learning experience.

anything to help pass the time for the next 8 hours...

Chuckie is very similar to Brett.
Wyo has better WRs, USU has a better run game.

But USU should be able to beat USC I think. This may be what gets Kiffin fired. Who knows.

Huh? USU and UW run games are a wash right now....maybe a little in favor of Wick. USU relies on Keeton for everything.

Yeah I guess you're right. I was just assuming they were still running the ball well because their receivers aren't that great, and they still put up big numbers on teams.

Wick is definitely better than their best RB.
So, does Wyo have a better offense than USU?

Right now Keeton is playing out of his mind......BUT....he's played a very leaky Utes defense (that they struggled with).....an AFA team that Boise nearly scored a TD on EVERY SINGLE DRIVE...and a Weber St. team that plays like a DII school. We'll know more about USU today against a good Trojan defense. They should win because the USC offense is lol bad, but we'll find out if Keeton is invincible....or just playing bad defenses.

And yes, I like Wick more than I like Joe Hill. Hill looks average despite playing behind the best O-Line in the MWC. And yeah......Keeton's WRs were all playing JC ball last year. They're all in for 2013.....expect a drop off in 2014, and a disappearance from relevance in 2015.

Maybe Keeton is getting good production from his WRs because USU just has a bad ass WR coach?

I think Wyo should try to hire him and get him back in state. We could use a good RB an WR coach! I don't care if we add him as a Dline coach...just don't want him coaching the enemy!

Aggies do not look good right now. Physically-dominated so far.....tons of penalties too.

I guess I missed the penalties, but their o-line is getting smashed by USC, forcing Keeton to scramble for his life on about every down. Defense is doing OK.

I'm sorry. I am just not impressed with Chuckie. I think with the hype he gets he should be able to run that offense better than he does. There's no doubt he's talented but he most definitely is not better than Brett. I watched the Utah game and and am watching this usc game and I don't see him successfully making difficult throws like Brett does. He hits wide open receivers but I question if he can make the tough passes. Anyone else feel like this or am I alone in my opinion?

I can say this.....Keeton is really good, but Derek Carr is 10x better. Keeton doesn't throw with anywhere near the same accuracy, arm-strength, or decision making. Don't get me wrong, he's good.....but maybe a tad on the overrated side. He's on par with Smith for the most part.

Don't get me started on Carr. I can admit that I wear the brown and gold glasses and drink the pokes coolaid but watching Carr the couple times I have I would rather have Brett behind center. I personally don't think theres another qb in the MWC that'd I'd rather have as a cowboy. Maybe my brown and gold banana hammock is too tight and I can't think straight...

Keeton just got stopped before he could convert the 1st down on 4th and long. Last chance for the Aggies. Got to stop USC now.

This game definitely made me think less of Keeton. He's good at scrambling, but he made SOOO many bad reads. I understand that USC is a different beast of a defense than what they normally see, but still... his throws were off quite often as well. Not by a lot, but enough that his receivers couldn't hold on to the ball when they needed it the most.

JMO....Fales looked a lot better than Keeton today. Keeton has more physical limitations than I thought.

alright, so now I can talk ratings of qbs in the mountain west. Ive seen enough to make my statements

1. carr
2. smith
3. fales
4,5 tied keeton and southwick

carr is the most polished passer, which is the main attribute most nfl teams are looking for. arm strength is the best in the mountain west, and on par aaron murray if not better. effortless in his delivery, looks smooth and natural, no kinks or hitches in his throwing motion. can make any throw, and can change his ball speed for different routes.

smith is the most complete package, but not the best in any category except for throwing on the move. smith is the best rolling passer in the mountain west. good size... makes very good reads, and can cycle through his progression.

fales is second to carr on arm strength and deep accuracy. doesn't move as well as keeton or smith... and really needs too with the team around him. with equal talent at the next level, he will be drafted.

keeton and southwick will struggle to be drafted... unless something happens. they might find success in the free agent market. keeton can't make a throw to a flaring running back, has trouble changing velocity, and stares down his primary target. another bad habit that keeton has, is that under pressure he evades backwards first; instead of laterally or upfield. he loses ground first but has the speed at the collegiate level to make it work. brett almost always steps forward in the pocket under pressure, the breaks laterally, which is a habit that works for the nfl.

southwick needs some time, and I think he is getting better. but around these other qbs, he is a game manager and not a star.
