If Wyo doesn't make MWC Title game....

Coach DC needs to be on the extremely hot seat if he doesn't get Wyo into the MWC Title game THIS season.
I would say fired, BUT, I don't want Smith leaving early if DC is fired, or Thompson transferring away.

Why is this the season to be in the MWC title game???

Well, after suffering his first loss to CSU, he better pick his shit up ESPECIALLY because the only other 2 teams in our division that could make the MWC championship game, BOTH have their STARTING QBs injured for the season.
USU does not have Keaton. Boise does not have Southwick.
Wyoming has NO excuse to not make the MWC title game this season.

Yes the odds are stacked against us. But if DC wants to be a good coach, and Wyoming wants to be a good team, they HAVE to figure it out, and get into the MWC title game THIS season.

I doubt we do it. But if there is any year to do it, it's this season.

Boise and Utah St. proved on Saturday that unlike Wyoming, they are much more than just one QB. MWC title talk is insane after what just occurred in Laramie. Most would be thrilled with a bowl game at this point.

That might not mean anything to 99% of the students, or even the freaking football team, but for me, it matters.

I get what you are alluding to BP. Really, I think the end of the line is next fall. Smith is CDC's recruit/QB. Smith, along with a ton of other starters will be seniors next fall. If they cannot string together AT LEAST what Smith achieved his Freshman year (8-4), you get the sense the CDC regime may have gone as far as it can. This season isn't over, I do think 5-7 or god forbid 4-8 might get CDC a pink slip this year. Maybe. As long as this season doesn't go down the toilet, I think he'll be allowed to finish what he started......but next year is definitely the put up or shut up season for CDC. Enough about other MWC teams and what they do, Wyoming needs to focus on themselves. But its hard to make any conclusions. If this team magically went to a bowl, there would be high expectations going into 2014. Hell, they were high expectations this year and UW went fucking 4-8 last year. But for me, missing bowl eligibility would be really hard to justify one way or another. Maybe the best route would be to do what Fresno did: let Pat Hill go and don't let him finish off the Carr era in a negative way. They did that, and it paid off. My worst fear is CDC finishes out the Smith era and the team still sucks. No guarantee the Pokes will find a QB like him anytime soon.....its now or never (figuratively of course).

Utah St. losing Keeton is a big deal. Boise losing Southwick? Hardly anything to write home about. He was always average at best...if anything, Reno might have done Boise a favor. Utah St. beat down UNM with GREAT defense and a dominant run game....which seems to be the theme with great football teams. Wyoming lacks a lot of the overall depth these teams have. I've been saying forever....they need more than just Smith and a handful of WRs.

Nobody on WN watches Wyoming football thinking, "Oh yeah, I'm totally good with going anywhere from 4-8 to 7-5 for the rest of eternity".....what we are saying, is considering how bad UW has looked as of late, most would LOVE to just be bowl eligible. Wyoming has only played in three bowl games since 2000.....nobody would scoff at that achievement. The fear is that things have gotten so bad that they might miss one altogether despite having 4 wins early October. That's all.....bar has not been lowered.

everybody complained that the rivalry on the CSU side they were discounting it, I kinda agree that in order to make it a true rivalry that rival needs win every so often to keep it fresh otherwise it gets stagnant...as for the MWC title game I would love us to make it this year, but if that doesn't happen then next year for sure, Brett being a senior and all. that's my take
