Congrats to Hunter and congrats to Coach Allen and the staff! This is a big day for the state of Wyoming. Hunter is a game changer. Cannot wait to see what he does for the Brown and Gold!

Super proud of this kid! Great basketball player, but an even better person. I'm really happy to hear that he'll be playing in Laramie!

What is the scholarship situation now? Someone give me the skinny
At the moment we have no more available scholarships for the 2017 class. We'll lose McManamen and Marshall, and we'll sign Maldonado and now Thompson.

Of course, there's lots of talk about signing an extra guy for the 2017 class (hopefully Parker Stewart) because it seems like a guarantee that someone will leave. Last year, I think I heard there was over 350 Division I transfers. We're unfortunately not immune to this.

BIG TIME GET!!!! Loaded at the post for years to come now. Gotta love WYO WYO players. Hoping he goes down with other WYO WYO greats like Bailey and McMAN. Well so much for our what ifs. If our recruiting class stops here we'll be pretty solid, however we just landed a 4 star big man! Will this effect Parker's decision? Stewart will have a solid dude in the key with him for 4 years if joins in. Domino effect? No schollies left

Don't forget that Broderick Jones was a rivals 4* athlete coming out of high school too.

Oh yeah I know man! I'm so so so so so STOKED about us having a major paint presence in the MWC. Moemeka, Jones, Naughton, Herndon, Barnes, Dalton, and now Thompson. That my friends is what we've been waiting for. That's 6 legit deep in the post positions. They'll be capable of throwing BIG lineups at opponents too. We now have the capability of putting Dalton and Herndon as monster 3 swing men. Mobility could be an issue for that but man think of the possibilities.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not even a native son of the state and have no tangible connection to it, but I know how HUGE this is!

Not only for the state but for Allen Edwards and the program he's building. Our posts have been somewhat lacking this year and last, but this commitment changes that! Heckuva stamp Edwards has put on the program in such a short time!

For those that don't think the facilities are making a huge difference. Read the article about Anthony Mack's visit and then read Hunter's comments on his Wyoming visit right here,

""When the whole recruiting thing started, I didn’t think going away from home would be a big factor, not having that extra support system that I’ve had since I’ve been in second grade," Thompson said. "But I guess it was just more being close to home and just feel way more comfortable just being an hour away from home I guess instead of a seven-hour trip."

"Every kid always wants to play in the tournament, and they always want to play in the biggest arena, and they want to play in front of packed houses," Thompson said. "At first, I guess, I was kind of, I wouldn’t say that was a big factor for me, but it definitely played into the role. But just when I took my visits there, I was just in such awe of how big and how classy everything was there."

I took Hunter's comments about everything being big and classy about why he committed to Creighton, he wasn't talking about our facilities... Maybe because he said "there" instead of "here"

But your point remains true... facilities matter in recruiting. And so does attendance. Both will continue to improve

It's been a long time coming, it's been a long time coming....
