I hope he can somehow latch onto a team, if nothing else, on a practice squad.

I'm sure every AFL QB wants to make it to the NFL. Since the restructuring of the AFL contracts pay much much lower now. Most players hold full time jobs as well because they have to. Back in the day AFL players could make a living simply playing football which in turn has decreased the overall talent level of the AFL.kansasCowboy said:You never know, he could pull a Kurt Warner. Play semi pro, get picked up by a practice squad in the pros, work his way into a starting QB, and then win a Super Bowl!

I believe Christensen told Smith that he would get picked up by an NFL team, and once he got fired, stayed in Smith (and his Dad's) ear about it. was listening to KFBC the other day, and one of the commentators made reference to "some things he had heard" that made him believe the same. Nothing official and no names were given, but the hint was there.
Either way, it's time to move on. Smith is gone, Christensen has moved on, and we've got a new era of Cowboy football to look forward to. I really do wish Smith the best, and hope he lands on an NFL practice squad somewhere.
