Looking at the goat U game, and thinking, remember that time Trey McBride cried after getting beat by the Pokes…….again at the War. Yeah, that was cool!

McBride was one hell of a tight end. I think it was that same game that he broke the CSU school record for receiving yards by a tight end. He was damn near unstoppable that season.

I think he's a pretty emotional guy. Wasn't it just last month that he was crying during the press conference announcing his new deal making him the highest paid tight end in NFL history? I think he cries about a lot of stuff.

What is the consensus for optimal kick off time for home games in Laramie?

When I was at UW (2004-2008), pretty much every home game was a kick off of noon. There were lots of people who complained about that too.

My belief for home games: Late games early in the season and between noon-2 PM starts later in the season.

Nothing is more miserable than cold November games at night with the chance of driving home into a late night snowstorm.

Sounds reasonable.

Does UW have any say at all over kick times? I would think CBS and Fox ultimately decide who plays when.

Personally, and for my peers, optimum time is 1pm. 2pm a close second. After that, meh.

UW has say in the television negotiations absolutely but after that it is up to the networks (at least under the current deal). Unfortunately, our current University President is the Chair of the MWC Board of Directors which probably doesn't bode well at all for the future of the MWC and game times for Wyoming. This is the last year of the current contract. But I am doubtful the new contract will yield more favorable time results (and likely worse with a mix of Thursday/Friday night games and Saturday 8-9 PM starts).

a day game could be 80 degrees but if it kicks off after 5, you could half freeze your ass off.

Northern Iowa should end up being a day game, no reason to wait for a tv time etc. and Nevada on 11/22-if there's even a hint of it being a meaningful game I can see this end up on FS2 at 7:30 or something like that. TV scheduling like this hurts home attendance. Who wants to drive from Sheridan, Gillette, Cody, or Riverton for a 5:30 kick off and make the choice of a 5+hr post game drive or a $300+/night hotel room in Laramie?

It's time to evaluate revenue vs. exposure vs, fan experience at the stadium? It seems to me, that revenue and fan experience for teams at our level are contradictory.

Maybe it's better to charge a little more on game day and take less tv revenue but with better access (streaming or otherwise)? Imo, game access on mobile platforms is critical. We need every game easily accessible somehow.

I hope leadership has a good grasp on the best way forward. I'm not holding my breath.

UW can't make any unilateral decisions regarding the broadcasting of their home games. All MWC members signed a grant of rights turning over their home broadcasting rights to the MWC.

Correct and aren't we near or in negotiations? The point is regarding future negotiations.

I don’t think UW has much bargaining power when it comes to negotiations.

Streaming may be a decent option for UW, but other schools in the MWC might disagree and UW is definitely not in the driver’s seat, even in the MWC. That honor now goes to UNLV and Air Force. It used to be Boise State.

Without knowing what the options might be, it's really difficult to even speculate much. However, I suspect there will be more agtreement than disagreement or bullying by anyone. Besides everyone signed gor. Unlv and AF aren't able to push too much weight around. They "got theirs" in the buyouts.

Either way, in the nil era, exposure likely elevated in importance. I expect a relatively unified approach to negotions and I'm sure we'll be analyzing the most important components of a TV package and what the tradeoffs might be.

With that said, I'm obviously speaking from a level of ignorance with no inside information
