Heard ACS did not travel...

you can pull the redshirt off a guy at any time by putting him in a game. We are not winning this game without ACS and probably even with him. Let them kick the shit out of Crum.

I think you are completely off with your post about Dax "Concrete" Crum.

First off, Dax Crum is not a bad QB. I would even go as far as arguing that he is a better pure passer than ACS is. He isn't the ideal QB for DC's offensive scheme, but that doesn't make him a bad QB. With a decent line and decent receivers, I think some of you guys would be shocked at what Crum could do.

Secondly, the coaches are well aware of the strengths and weaknesses that Crum has. They won't ask him to do anything he isn't capable of doing. Personally, I'll bet my entire life savings that 95% of the passes we see are quick hitting dink and dunks. Look for a lot of WR screens, quick outs, quick slants, etc. The coaches know TCU's D-line is capable of dominating our O-line and won't be asking them to protect Crum for more than a couple of seconds.

Will that game plan win us this game? I doubt it, but its our best shot at having any chance of winning.

But it begs the question.. do we start Crum or give Stratton a look?
Crum actually has gametime experience and is a decent passer, but Stratton is the better runner and would be more efficent at the running game. Depends on what DC's plan is.

As has been mentioned before, it would be Miller that would see the field not Stratton. Crum will certainly play, but Miller would step in if there was an injury.

Well there goes the neighborhood... Dax "Concrete" Crum cannot move and with our O' line TCU may have 20 or 25 sacks by the end of the game.

You don't get sacked if you release the ball. Dax is taller (easier to see receivers) than ACS and has a quicker release. He also had nice spring and fall practices. Maybe DC figures we can't run on anyone right now, let alone TCU, so let ACS heal (if it's injury related) for the 2nd half of the season, and let Dax throw the ball up the field. Then again maybe we'll run the wildcat on every play!

Sources told Schmoldt that the injury may not have been hand, rather, possibly concussion and wasn't cleared by the doctor.

This may partly explain why DC closed practices this week. Also, it could be ACS required some surgery on that hand. Crum will be fine, but I'm not looking for him to be throwing the ball downfield more than a couple times in this game. DC's gameplan should be interesting for this game.

UW Press Release didn't say anything about the injury, but mentioned that practices will be closed for the remainder of the season. Against UW policy to comment on injuries.

ACS not even traveling? It must be more than a hand injury. He could at least wear a headset and help out on the sidelines. This must be related to a concussion or something we just don't know about. So DC has decided to close all practices the rest of the season as well... this is all so bizarre.

Wyomingathletics.com is reporting if a player cannot play because of injury than they cannot travel with team

I think you can only travel with 65 players, so why take a injured player.

I love how people are speculating on the whole "Wow! It must be more than an injury!" BS. Stop it.

The dude is hurt. Period. Go to a reliable source and get facts.

Vegas took the game off the boards as well, one cannot even go and hedge their fucking bet! :brick:

I think I might go golfing this weekend, maybe go and I dont know...anything besides watching us get totally annihilated on Saturday. Of only the few games we don't have on TV I wish this was one of them. I hope the pokes prove me wrong, but the wild Crum can only go so far...

I never said he was a bad passer, but he is not real mobile and with our O' line he will be on his backside more than ACS would, him not being mobile is why the term "concrete" was used.

Dude! RealUW. Settle down. that was real Junior Highish of you. "I'm 6-5 275lb! And can beat you up in my sleep!" When in all actuality you're probably 5-10 and a buck 60.
Someone tell me, did Hendricks make the Toledo game since he was hurt? If not, I'd say, that nothing too crazy is going on here. But top that off with DC closing down practices and a mystery is created! Maybe we are going to start throwing different Offensive formations at different teams. Something slightly different each week. Example, we ran spread against BSU and then a week later running options from the spread against AF. not quite Wing T and not quite Shotgun. Now we close practices, so maybe no one knows what we do next week. It's like Arroyo said earlier this week in an interview. We are staying with our roots in the spread but just tweaking things a little. Changing up formations (putting a FB offset of ACS and AA in shotgun) Stuff like that. I really think it's manageable and we are capable of this multiple Offense look, while still lining up in what looks like Spread.
